The world is just full of boring old box-shaped houses with regular shaped walls, and tedious windows of regular sizes. Isn’t it time we got involved with some more interesting and imaginative ways to build ourselves dwellings? Let’s embrace the weird and wonderful world of bizarre architecture and take a trip through some of the oddest offerings in house design that we can find.
From a dude hollowing out an actual mountain to build a house, to a school bus bringing a world of freedom to a young family, here are 20 Incredible Houses You Won’t Believe Exist.

In Sept. I will turn 78. Being a retired educator and suffering with depression, I would give anything to have an off grid tiny house, but I’m too old to build it myself and money is not that great. I have very good skills. I wish I had know about these possibilities when I was younger. Although some of these you show are a little too weird for me, things like the tiny farmhouse or shipping container revamping. God bless these people for reducing their earthly footprint. I pray it continues to grow to free people from mortgages, utilities and gives them singular freedom. Thanks for your video.

Very interested in four of the houses as incentive for government funded solution to our country's "Homeless" crisis. If only the commentary was not so appalling, it really is sickening, and puts ppl off watching more. Dearly wish they wld re-record all their commentaries w a normal voice, bcz more ppl wld actually listen and learn. Otherwise, it is a good series that could help so many communities struggling with limited space, limited materials and funds.

I saw a family who converted an old double decker bus than it turned out fabulous. It provides plenty of room and 3 bedrooms for the couple and their 3 children. They own the land they live on. They could move it at any time. However, they had a landscaped a front yard and vegetable garden so they really don’t have any desire to move at present. It’s great.

Some people are amazing with their creative ideas especially when they take their ideas and turn them into reality often with their own hands. I have to say that solar panels can really cut down on your power costs. Last year taking into account summer and winter I saved an average of 30% by using solar panels and on top of that and extra 10 to 20% by selling unused power back to my power company. When power storage batteries become cheaper solar will provide around 60 to 70% power essentially for free after the initial installation is paid off.

I don't think we need all of the snarky comments! I am in awe of the tiny Eco friendly homes! And if everyone was happy with minimal space instead of huge houses, we'd be in alot better shape and even better if there off grid so the power companies and government aren't making billions off of us! And not to say that we'd have to live on a tiny lot... you could have a Eco friendly home on Fifty acres and if you have workers on your farm, building a few tiny homes wouldn't take up alot of space!

Still ''geeking out'' at 50 and loving it! : )

I love the tiny Japanese home. It's time for everyone to consider the footprint they leave on the earth. In my city there are countless "gated" communities where the uber-wealthy can lock themselves safely away from the riff-raff of society while they traverse the 16,000 sq ft of space in their two-person home with its six bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. Nobody needs to live like this, occupying far more than their fair share of property while several thousand homeless people sleep under bridges and trees. These homes falsely over-inflate the cost of land and houses in the area, making it harder and harder for lower income earners to own any kind of home. Is it all just to showcase their wealth? They CAN afford to do this, so why not do it?? Recent retirement has taken me to a 440 sq. ft. apartment in a seniors residence - the tiniest of tiny homes that I've ever seen. But it has everything I, a one-person tenant, needs to live - a bedroom/living room combination, a bathroom, a small kitchen. 240 similar suites in one building which takes up less land space than ONE of those ridiculously palatial "gated" community homes. If we start living smaller and smarter, then perhaps there will be enough room for every person to have a roof over their heads at night. Enough available land at affordable price so that developers can build similar apartments for low income families and homeless people.

My personal opinion is in line with yours, but not in a way that I’d force it on others. I personally believe in freedoms. One has the freedom of living in a mansion, even if it makes zero sense. Slippery slope when authorities start telling people how to live. Ultra wealthy liberals do not live the lifestyle they want others to live.

That building with the huge clock in it showed up in the movie, "Baby's Day Out" where the baby had a favorite book that everyone had to read to him and the baby in the book went to the zoo, so our baby went to the zoo. Baby in the book went to a building under construction so our baby went to a building under construction. I don't remember all of his adventures but I do remember that the baby ended up going to the building with the huge clock in it. Oh, to add a bit of intrigue to the movie, the baby was the child of a super rich daddy and kidnappers were hot on his trail everywhere he went. Well, that's enough of that. Love the airplane homage to The Magician (his plane was also named SPIRIT, like the smaller fuselage). Why does the narrator have to be snarky, though. I particularly dislike the "threat of sending some ugly bug to crawl on the face". Not necessary, not funny, very offputting in an otherwise interesting video. It was really fascinating seeing the different homes, but instead of actually sharing how they did things differently than traditional houses, it was just a rush to see how many houses they could include, but not really provide information about. Overall, this was a subject that I was interested in, but it was presented poorly. B-

#18 got shut down by the Chinese govt. He's now refurbishing an old stone house in the countryside. Very sad, the mountain home sits there, abandoned, but not by choice. He has a YT channel and you can follow his work there.

I want to hear the house details but why so snarky? Who wants to hear such disrespectful comments? This earns a 👎🏻 when it could’ve been a delight.
