I saw that little cutie try to grab a bale and help daddy. Those kids are go into grow up with a great work ethic. Great parenting going on here. Kudos. Man, this takes me back to my childhood on the farm. We did it by dropping bales and coming back to throw them up on the hay rack. Thanks for the nostalgia.

I rode the wagon for years stacking hay on it. One thing I used to help my back and made it easier to handle was hay hooks. we used wire to tie our bales and so the bales were about 70 to 90 lbs. our trailers would hold 100 to 120 bales if you stacked them 5 high. this brings back memories of when I was younger. My 2 older brothers left for college when I was 12 years old so I had to take the place of them. I would load the hay on the trailer while my Mom run the baler. My Dad was over stacking hay by himself or my little brother would drop them off the trailer to Dad, he was 6. I actually started helping with hay at about that same age, 6, helping to roll the bales off the trailer to Dad. the last 2 trailers for the day would be loaded and pulled home 4 miles away. We had 2 G john Deere tractors we used. We purchased a 730 Diesel and that made baling hay with the newer baler go better because of the live PTO.

When I was a kid, circia 12 years old, My brother and I often worked on the trailer, stacking bails that were coming off the bailer. we could not keep up with the bailer. So I'm very impressed that one man is not only keeping up but actually waiting on each bail. I'm even more impressed to the two little girls are keeping up with the bailer.

Now THIS is how I remember farming and haying when I was a kid. Dad taught me how to do it all except mowing. We had an old Farmall H, Farmall Super C and a Farmall Cub. Our baler was almost like yours, an old Hew Holland with a Wisconsin motor on it. We had to make 11,000 bales to make it through to the next season. We did it just as you are here. Have to admit, I sure do miss those days! It was a simpler life then. My compliments to baling crew and how well they work. Job well done folks!!

Reminds me of when I was about 7 or 8 years old and riding the wagon behind the baler....I was always excited to be in on the fun! Funny how it turns into real work as we get older!! That's a nice wagon with the "tenderfoot" for flooring. Should last a long time. Really like your video....great job!!

That is basically how we made hay also. We would put up an average of 1,000 bales a day, with our crew. Two in the field, one or two hauling in loads, one unloading the wagon, and two in the mow. We would then go and milk our 60 cows. NH makes a great baker. We always pulled ours with a 77 Oliver, because it had live PTO. It made for some long days. Great memories.

Like showing the youth how to help with the baling. Better than him sitting in the house on video games. I also like the bale wagon. Being a mesh floor, don't have to worry about being slick from the straw and better than wood like we used to use. Thanks again.

I'm from the country but raise my kids in the city and I think country living is way more important for young people. This city living made them spoiled and lazy when they was little. A good day for me was when I could get my son to remember to take out the trash let alone drive a tractor and help bale hay.

That was my first tractor driving too at the age of 5. It was a John Deere A, stiff steering old beast. Dad would jump off the wagon at the ends and turn me around since I couldn't turn it myself, then run back to the wagon and get caught up stacking. I can still hear him yelling "stay off the windrow". That was 52 years ago, seems like yesterday. I lost him when I was 18, I will never forget the things he taught me and working beside him.
