I love bees. ❤️ I’ve had a few bumblebees find their way into my room through a tiny crack in my window frame, I’m getting really good at catching them and putting them outside. We always have so many wild bees, they love our mayday tree and they’ve already pollinated all the nanking cherries!

Bumblebees are bad news when your mowing a pasture and run over their hole in the ground. Ask me how I know. Much worse than a honeybee sting. I had welts all over my back and wasn’t wearing a shirt.

I'm also running about 50 hives here in NC. We're in our 7th year. After my first year I got rid of the bee suit and gloves. The only thing I wear now is a veil covering my head. I do keep a bee jacket in the truck... just in case. I have been known to work bee's in shorts and flip-flops. I've also been run out of a bee yard a time or two. We work our bee's every 7 to 10 days and most times I get stung, at least once ; ) I'm always saying to myself, "Be the tree" after watching the crazy Bee Czar series. It'd be nice to have a Spring near by but a cold shower is the best I can do after getting drenched with sweat. Enjoy watching your vid's.

If we have a state inspector visit our apiary, well, not good, not good at all. You call them 'passionate' and 'know what they're doing'. Here they have their wisdom from books, of course they have a phd, but no real life experience. Anyway, they will tell us beekeepers what to do and especially how to do and it doesn't work, what would you expect, really. After 5 years of evaluation I'd expect they would have learnt, it had to change, no mam, they make it worse. Now they want to force each beekeeper work together with a vet who will guide us. There are no vets in my area who know anything about bees. Long story short, many young aspiring beekeepers stop their interest in beekeeping after being confronted with all this rule nonsense. But I'm happy things for you guys turn out to be great.

While i love your bee videos, i dont understand why Americans are so averse to proper beekeeping. Bee hives are supposed to be kept in bee houses. Helps make dryer honey, helps the bees keep constant temperatures, keeps pests away, keeps the beekeeper cool in the summer and warm in the winter.... its just a better way.
