This year has been my first practicing herbalism and learning about herbs. I was six shocked when I discovered how many herbs/weeds were growing on my own property. It's been such a blessing. I have echinacea, wild bergamot, elder, and many others!

Good morning Kaylee🌞 I have bought my one acre the day before Thanksgiving. So it is my first year here. I am originally from Germany. I am learning so much about everything from you. I have lamb's quarter, dandelion, goldenrod, red clover, purslane, Queen Anne's Lace, plantain and wild lettuce growing. I also found black raspberry and American elderberry., I ordered some supplies and already made some plantain salve and my wild lettuce tincture is in the making. I have so much to learn and am so excited to do so. I have to go out and find me some goldenrod, I would love to try to make some tea. I watched you and your mom in the video drinking the tea. I also have a little garden and about 37 chickens so far. Hoping to extend my garden next year and getting some other animals like goats, maybe a couple pigs and also rabbits.. Love to get my hands dirty and always trying to learn something old.

I am so new to investigating plants growing wild in my backyard. I found 2 of the same plant that I know I've pulled out of my suburban yard several times. I've looked at the plant, checked all it's qualities, looked at numerous identification information about it and I'm pretty sure it is Lamb's Quarters. And I am just thrilled to have it in my yard. I'm carefully harboring it and keeping it safe from accidental destruction. It makes me smile to know it is out there!!

KZbin recommended your channel to me because I've been watching Mr Ed, and 628DrirtRooster with their Bees, and cut out work. Just a strange note, but I now have to be very careful with mushrooms, because I used dried shitake in a soup years ago. It's made me sensitive to a compound in field mushrooms, so where it would take many cups to usually be ill, it takes a few 100g in a meal for me. Totally sad about! Liking your channel though 😁

Speaking of the books.. Can you please help me out? I've been trying to figure out what the difference is between the 3 editions of The Green Pharmacy is. I cannot find anything anywhere. Is it basically the same, but updated versions, or are they completely different to each other? And if so, if I was to just get one of them, which would you recommend? I've just ordered the Peterson field guide and the Herbal remedies, but I hear good things about the Green Pharmacy (I'm thinking it would make a great Christmas present from my husband 😉).

@evelyngott2056
@evelyngott2056 Жыл бұрын
Morels do not grow on logs, they grow on the ground. Chanterelles are a mycorrhizal species of mushroom and need to live in tree roots (live trees, not logs) to thrive. Oak, beech, birch, spruce, or douglas fir trees for best success. Mushrooms that do grow on logs (trees) are oyster, maitake, turkey tail, reishi, lions mane.

That Shiso is wicked invasive here. It shades out the native plants for pollinators and if it gets a foothold in your yard, the clover disappears. I doubt there are enough people to keep it eaten down if each person in town ate a bowl every day. 🙁

As things keep going the direction they are in our world, we need to learn to eat the weeds as indigenous people did in the past or starve, especially when you see governments paying farmers to not plant crops? 🤦‍♂️ 🙄
