Pepper jack is quite a handsome donkey. I like mules I’ve never owned one, but I like them. Our neighbors had a pair that they used to plow the fields here in Southern California. They were very gentle and I enjoyed interacting with

Don't have any regrets about not breeding mules. Unless you cracked the secret code to make Roan Mules, LOL. And please don't think I am not a roan fan. I literally tear up whenever I see one that looks like my Babe😢 My heart horse back in 1979-1981 was a gorgeous Strawberry Roan AQHA that LOVED the barrels. We tore up a corner of my dad's fresly plowed 40 acres 1 season. He was so mad I thought he was going to take my horse away. 😮

I know right now your minds and hearts are busy praying for folks & they're horses affected by the Palisades area Fires. (yeah, plural.) Did you see my other post about a collab with Amry? Since she's got the history of producing big $ ranch horses, maybe you're not finding a buyer because he's meant for the big money sales? The professionals don't turn their noses up at anything that isn't a Roan. Blaze is a beautiful dude. I see a lot of comments and various posts that people are like oh please keep Blaze, save his bloodline. It is a shame more people don't appreciate a beautiful solid built, well bred AQHA Ginger & White boy. My horsey days are so far in the rearview and I live on low income, in suburbia just Northwest of San Jose, so no way I could ever snatch him up. I totally understand though, it's your decision. You've already explained why you don't have room, nor is it practical to keep a stud. God bless you for your sincere offer to take in some displaced 🐎 You truly do Christ's work by leading by example.

But have not seen used with colts due to fact that horses are more fracterous and could get into a storm and result in injury to the colt...and be glad you cut Pepper Jack...jacks are lit harder to handle than studs are...and more dangerous to other livestock including horses as they will lock on and have powerful jaws...

The ones here that use the burros to train calves use a sursingle with a breast strap and britching to hold it in place so that the pull is from the middle of the burro and not fro the head or neck if the burro so that if calf doest do like your colt did go a head of Pepper Jack and be me leading Pepper Jack...you dont want the burro to pull back againt this oressure and kinda undo his leading training...where as if the pull is from a sursingle anroind his middle this isnt an issue

I understand the concept...BUT... I question the possible result of having a horse react as a Donkey. I am happy for you that your back will not be damaged in a conflict with an untrained young horse. Humility is often difficult for Humans to accept. Do you think that "marriage " has multiple purposes in the "EYES OF GOD " ? ( just pondering...) Blessings...
@TheFarmonRoute667 күн бұрын

This is a horrible method to apply. I saw an Amish trainer use the same method. However, the foal reared and fell over. The donkey dragged it along the ground while the foal was panicking to get to its feet. The donkey then started kicking at the foal and broke its leg. Nobody with an ounce of knowledge or skill would even consider using this method.
