I really like the fact that you can hardly tell the difference between harvested and planted - especially at a time when GPS and all that weren't around - it makes it feel more realistic to the concentration that was likely really required. Excellent episode!

FSG just an idea for your own expansion. Since I believe you have a tedder, why not make hay to feed to the cattle, and sell the silage? that would bring you additional income which in turn would give you the capitol to buy more equipment/land/whatever you choose. Another FANTASTIC episode. I enjoy this series almost as much as Surviving Wyoming, and this series is just starting!

Good call Brandon, I was thinking the same myself after remembering that FS22 doesn't treat silage as a feed type for cows (madness!)

The straw trigger is located inside the cattle barn, between the two doors beside the barriers. You also need to put down your own manure silo. Nice episode FSG 👍

@@TheFarmSimGuy You're welcome FSG. Another tip for you would be to create an entrance to your grass field closer to your farm, next to the entrance to the field beside it, especially if you are doing 20+ trips back and forth. FYI - you also need a slurry silo - but a fix is coming in the next update regarding this. I'm not sure if the problem is cross platform though. HTH 🙂

First tractor my dad ever owned was a steel wheel Fordson. Bought a farm in Devon in 1952 and drove down from Surrey in a 3 wheeler James van with one calf in the back.

I remember using a Fordson Major Tractor when I was 15, fresh out of school and in my first job as farm labourer in the New Forest and for the record that was 1970. This will make a great series, shame it isn't a roleplay must chat up Scroft see if he's interested.

My dad used to have a super major as soon as I seen it in game gave me a wee smile. Remember learning to drive on it when I was like 10 or 12 and the it had a PTO at the back as normal or it had a PTO wheel to drive a belt for a thrasher

God! This brings back a lot of great memories for me FSG for when I was a very, very wee boy and used to help out on my dad's friends farm during the summer holidays. I think I was more of a hindrance than a help, even though I was paid a whole £1 (I was rich 😀) for about a months work and then I would spend that on our annual weeks holiday in Blackpool during the Glasgow fair holidays. (this was in the early sixties) 🤣 Once again, a great choice on the music for this episode. 👍

I have a good forage harvester, its the John Deere 3765. Its in the Modhub under forage harvesters, i forgot who made it though. But it seems to be a little bit older than the case (its also a pull behind). I hope this helps, and love this series, and the music

Fordson Super Major is still a powerhouse, my uncle has one for some duties at the farm. But mostly it's just a must have. That one is built with forestry in mind as it has half tracks. Really good series man.

Hey loving the new series but have a couple of suggestions. First the pick-up wagon you were using to pick up the grass reminds me more of the old corn wagons that were used to pick up missed cobs from the field that the old harvesters missed because of the large gaps in sides of the wagon. The one you are using would not be able to hold grass unless we are talking about very tall grass, say 3 ft in length. They were usually structured in a similar manner, but had canvas, or tarps for closing the gaps to store cut grass. Second, the seed tanks that you have are a modern invention and were not used at all during this time period. It was mostly all pallets of seed bags in the 60’s so recommend you go that route and save these for a later generation. Last, as an added bit or realism suggest you install the seed mod that requires the purchase of different seed bags for each crop you want to plant. Finally just wondering couldn’t you have used CorsePlay’s unload feature to automate the grass collection process?
