I am literally dying!!!!! My husband has about 20 pairs of Gucci shoes and truly, his older ( more than 20 years old ) Gucci shoes are much better than the new one. They are VERY durable ( he’s a solid guy ) and they are heavy material

Old Gucci shoes are made really well. It’s the unfortunate tale of every mainstream luxury brand. All their best made products are in the past

We have to start with the small stuff with this shrinkflation. Calling out food stores skimping on product etc, then build up to fashion brands skimping on materials.

Cereal boxes have gotten smaller but more expensive; plane tickets are more expensive but planes are falling apart, complete madness.

I agree. I like a nice leather heel. I hate the plastic heels. When you walk into luxury brands and their shoe line starts looking like what you’d find at Macy’s and even Payless then there’s an issue.

I think its just something that happens when a brand gets bought out. Just look at some of the famous US brands like Allen Edmonds, Brooks Brothers and Ralph Lauren. AE was bought out and declined in quality control and extra details in building their shoes, theyre still decent but not to same extent as before. Now theyre doing the higher priced base price with more sales approach. Brooks brothers used to be "The Brand" for men when talking good menswear stuff. Theyve been bought out and exchanged owners and now everything is made cheaper, in a different country and priced the same. RL is a little different since theyre not bought out but he did Step down from being the head of the company. Ill admit they still have wonderful stuff in the Purple label and the RRL stuff but the rest is usually not great.

I have quite a lot of Gucci RTW and I haven’t experienced any real decline in quality in the clothing, compared to the pieces I got from my father, and those pieces are from the 80s and 90s. And it’s not because I don’t look. I have an educational background in fashion, so I always check the craftsmanship of the pieces I buy.

You know what I just out of protest do not buy an LVMH product; I don’t care if they use our international treasure Zendaya to sell it. That being said, I do buy from Kering. I may just forget all these parents

So glad i can recognize good craftsmanship. Those lanvin skate sneakers are expensive, because of the craftsmanship and high quality materials used. "Made in Portugal" is what you should look for !

A lot of more reasonably priced labels use the same manufactures in Portugal

YES and their not the only ones. I’m looking at the cheap bottoms and lifts on the shoes and I told one Lux SA, these are CHEAP bottoms. I’m going to have to take the shoe to a cobbler to get the bottoms redone. Make it make sense on a $600-$2000 shoe/boot.

At my tannery all of our alligators, cows, horses, and ostriches follow a strict Korean skincare routine comprised of glycolic acid peels niacinamide serums, retinols, and ceramide rich moisturizer. That’s why all of our full grain leather is perfectly uniform and aesthetically smooth.
