Great insights! I appreciate the standard that you hold yourselves to in conversation. High level fashion discourse that isn't stuffy or elitist. Kudos from Los Angeles, gentlemen!💪🏽

Ackermann at Berluti was his best work so far I agree with fin! There is a community who are craving / collecting his collections at Berluti as holy grail . His boots ! His wool coats are pure gems ! The colors selection was fantastic. Actually in 2022 Tom ford took a big inspiration (I want to say he ripped off his aesthetic) from him before he retired! You can see it on vogue runway actually. For me he is the best underrated designer imo (and the jpg collection prove it imo again)

I honestly think they will make the clothing harder to get to and will launch very expensive make-up and fragrances like Dyptique, Aesop etc. Funny to see how L'Oreal also bought Aesop, all these very expensive luxury companies

Absolutely the Sarah Burton customer exists!! And they are women far more likely to transfer to Givenchy than wear anything by Sean McGirr

What happens to brands and the trend of their Creative Director hires, is they tend to go with designers that can mimic the top designer and/or trend at the moment (which is very short term goal oriented) Think if the time every brand wanted their own Nicolas Ghesquière, Phoebe Philo? They hired all their students into Creative Director roles. Now, they’re looking for their Jonathan Anderson/Loewe, Miuccia Prada/Miu Miu.

To clarify why Haider left Berlutti it was not for the reasons you said what happened was they wanted to put Kim at Dior Homme so they had to put Kris somewhere and Berlutti was possible and that is why Haider was removed. In fact I thought he did a beautiful collection...

I’ve heard this but part of the reason they preferred Kris to Haider I didn’t want to say on the stream because it’s a bit messy but yes I agree this is definitely part of what happened.

I heard the same as Luke that Sarah Burton insisted on couture. And I’m sure Givenchy will do couture with her bc she hired away another couturier’s assistant. Why do that hire if there won’t be couture🤷🏻♀️ It was from another designer who interviewed for the job as well. In June, do I don’t believe the theory that Givenchy and Sarah were a done deal last year when she left McQueen. Although it’s such a good theory!

Daniel Lee does not resenate because people want a more feminine take on the brand like Christopher Bailey.
