I remember the beginning with Izzy. The first emails with a lady who was at the orphanage in China and told you about her. The lunch with your husband about her. Going there and taking her home. What has happened between those early times and now is simply phenomenal. Every little thing is another victory. And she has come so far! You took her out of that sad world and into your world. Great job! And more good and happy things to come.

It's called vestibular stimulation (spinning) that so many of our special needs kiddo's just love! Sensory integration is a great part of healing for so many! We put up tire swing, hammock, and trapeze inside, and it supports so much calming as they spin! You are doing an amazing job ❤️ God bless all you do 🙏 beautiful family and amazing 💕love ❤️ thanks for sharing 🙏❤️

You’re such a good mom you really are. I’m glad that you’re finally managing to not worry so much about where she’s at and her emotional status. It’s because you’re such a great mom. You worry about those things but you’re right to learn to let go a bit and I know how important it is to your own sanity, you’ve done such a great job with her❤❤❤❤

I’m mom of a sensory seeking kiddo. We have a different story but the drive to find sensory input is similar. My kid wears out big trampolines. We’ve been through 4 of them now, I think. He will literally jump on it for hours at a time. For us, it’s gotten easier as he’s matured. He’s an older teen now and he finds more “normal” ways to get his sensory needs met. He’s on the school soccer team. Each kid really takes their own time, don’t they.

wow--you have gone through 4 trampolines?! Yes, you are right--each kid has their own journey. Sounds like your son is doing amazing!

@@TheFeltsFamily yep. 4 trampolines. And yes, he’s doing so well now. We had years when we didn’t know if we’d be able to see him through to adulthood. He grew up though, and his brain matured. I’m grateful for the years we spent homeschooling and also grateful that he’s beginning to transition to our local school. I wouldn’t change him for the world. And, I really understand the overwhelm that can come with a kid with special needs. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I hope you find time for a break every now and then. In the Light . . .
