Naive, needy, mumma’s boy, ridig body language, feeling the pressure to do a scene well, forcing it to happen, getting in the skin of the character, vulnerable, helpless, angry, heartbroken, stupid, childlike, rebel with no purpose.... all these kept changing from character to character but one thing remains constant about u - self awareness & honesty which is probably the most difficult balance to achieve in this industry it’s commendable... thanks for being that to urself & hence to all of us ❤️ love forever PS Haider will always be my favorite but looking forward to see better performance than that (no pressure) 🤪 Thanks Anupama mam & film companion for making this happen 😘

I still think he could have played Khilji way better
@rohithreddy754 жыл бұрын
@@thethreespikes9737 Actually i dont think shahid can play khilji because its really far away from his real life character.He really did great job as rajput king and no one could have dont that character better than him maybe hrithik can do it but i highly doubt that. khilji suits ranveer singh because of his outside personalility.
@thethreespikes97374 жыл бұрын
@@rohithreddy75 actually dude. The fact is Shahid would have played a better khilji. His real life characters . What does it even mean. Not trying to be offensive. But lets see Haider, Tommy Singh, Kabir Singh. All of them are extreme character and demands skill that can make a flat out character three dimensional. And lets see Khilji played by Ranveer. Was it ever three dimensional. He did not have a character arc. Even throughout the acting he stayed the same. Atleast had always the same kind of emotion and a sinister look on his face which was kind of a bummer with the screentime and relevence he had in the movie while Shahid is not given a lot dialogues, his character was written very poorly, yet he pulled it off convincingly. So when you talk about khilji, what you imply toward is his looks and dancing, looks are handled by cosmetic while dance is choreographed for a commercial purpose, it doesn't really have much to do with the story. To establish that he was a badass only his looks were given attention rather than acting. You can disagree with me. Its ok you are entitled to have your personal opinions. Shahid had played three crazy intense guys. And you dont even see one little trace of any other trace or shadow of those character mixed. The accent, the mannerism, the walking, the demanour all diffrntiate from one to another. You dont see a little tiny shade of it. All comes from different places. Watch Kaminey bro. If you ask me or anyone. Shahid would have rocked khilji. Instead he was given a very weak character and he even made that character awesome. You wanna see his acting chops toe to toe. Watch last fight scene of Padmavat between khilji and Rawal singh. Watch them act through that fight scene. Shahid looked menacing. He would have done a lot better job. I am not Ranveer hater, nor shahid lover. But Shahid can make a simple flat character look complex.
@rohithreddy754 жыл бұрын
@@thethreespikes9737 No i was talking about the negativity in the khilji role wont be convincing when shahid kapoor plays it as he has different aura in him. IF you look at his other roles you'll see he was never seen in a negative light eventhough he played dark roles.You will understand it once jersey movie releases as he will do his maximum best in those roles which are challenging but still something positive to look into that role.I absolutely love his movies and would even want to imagine how he will act khilji but i think the king sole suited him better within the limited talk he does in the movie he just shines in the movie like no one else.Ranveer singh did do complete justice to his character i feel that without shahid kapoor as the king the movie wouldnt have been the same as his presence was extremely needed in that role.You'll see him really shine in jersey movie because it really suits his acting and more than he relates to that role.There's no way that shahid will have a blockbuster. I will even agree that he can perform rockstar role better than ranbir kapoor but i dont see him in khilji as its too much negativity in that role which shahid kapoor cant convince audience that he is that.This is just my personal opinion with my opinion and i dont disagree with your opinion that he cant but i feel it wont look convincing to the audience.

Here are a list of scenes you should revisit of Shahid :- 1 - Badmaash Company where he tells his father that he doesn't wanna do MBA. 2- Haider when he revisits his destroyed house. 3- Udta Punjab where he reveals himself as "Fuddu" and pisses over the angry crowd. 4- Fida climax scene where he kills Kareena's character and he himself dies later. He convinces you to sympathize on his character even after killing the main lead whom he loves deeply 5- Phata poster nikla hero where he auditions for a movie in front of a pervert director. Shahid has chosen roles where he looked good and potrayed politically right in most of his film career and maximum of them are his failures. The thing that I love the most about Shahid is that he is not making movies to cater his stardom, he is more real than ever in the last few years. He is making the audience uncomfortable, vulnerable, cringe which is not what the typical Indian audience looks for. These are the roles that were the most successful in his career graph. With Kabir Singh I hope he gets the recognition that he deserves after being sidelined in movies like Padmavat and Rangoon.

In Phata Poster Nikla Hero, I didn't feel like he was acting in front of that director. That was damn real and for the first time appreciated him.

I think Shahid and Kareena might have broken up during the 2nd half of jab we met that's why Shahid said he wasn't feeling good while shooting that scene. I fell in love with him as an actor after that film, loved how he's grown to be so sensible, humble and mature in all these years.

@@rituchaure8502 Chup Chup Ke was a hit movie btw. these are old movies when he was very new and too young 24, also these movies were multicast movies not solo star movies and all actors need to work in order for movie to work, you can not blame Shahid for that.

This just goes to show how brilliant Shahid's growth has been as an actor. I've said it time and time again that he's one of those actors whose screen presence is unmatchable. Can't wait to watch him play the role of Kabir Singh.

I can see why Shahid and Kareena dated...I mean if you watch the last portion on Kareena's 'CountTo5' interview and Shahid's 38:00 onwards; the way they talk about the unnecessary importance of physical appearance is almost identical. Both highly intelligent people of course.

I donn know I was in which frame of mind before starting this video; I thought it of 4 mins only. But I’m glad I watched it, without skipping. I think this is the first time I have watched a full episode of Shahid’s interview even though I love him as an actor. After watching this interview I felt this man really knows the craft and understand it. He talks sense. Great selection of scenes btw.

Shahid you're the most under utilized actor I have ever seen. Man Rajkumar and you are two real actors that I think I will never get done with. Please, produce your films if needed, and don't wait for directors. I can't wait anymore to watch another film like Haider.

I love that kareena gave credit to Shahid when she talked about jab we met but he didn't even mention her name .. interesting
@chakram39814 жыл бұрын
because all these years she got most of the credit for JWM. She should have given credit to him long time back. he did not say anything about her because there is nothing new that she was great in the movie (he must have praised her many times before) but all other background which she talked in her interview was her personal experience and how Shahid convinced her about the movie and was involved in music etc. or how Saif met her and how she was ignoring JWM and how she was focused on Tashan. Shahid can not speak about all this right? and personally it was not too memorable for him so he chose not to speak.
