Coastal Foraging - A quick scour of a new beach to me and I found some amazing sea-life, whether for eating or for bait there was all you'd need!

This vid reminds me that as a kid, pre 1950, families would go to the Helford on the low spring and follow the tide out & dig for cockles it was abundant & a bucket full in no time. I lived in Fowey for a few years & again, midday at the low tide up by Golant dig for sand eels, loads there, also used to be great mussels. Thanks for the memories, as always another great video.

My 6 year old son & I stumbled on your channel by accident. He is now obsessed with this channel, and is super inspired by you. He wants to go foraging at the coast so bad. We live in Long Island, New York so I'm not sure if the quality of sea life is as good as out by you. He's learning so much through your channel, and wants so bad to be able to earn his dinner by foraging for it himself. That k you and keep up the videos. He gets so excited every time you pick something up or salt a keyhole.

We're in Southern Louisiana(US) The weather here hasn't been the greatest either, storms are ridiculous right now, had a decent one roll through about a week ago that lasted a good 4 days and it was nothing but heavy heavy rain and high winds, gusts got up to almost 70mph one of those days! I'm not 100% sure how i came across your videos, but i'm glad i did! Always cook fresh foraged shellfish thoroughly and avoid estuaries and river mouths after heavy rainfall due to agricultural and sewage runoff.

Being in another country (not living near the sea), it would be great if you could do a shot of just the ocean waves or the stream. Just some wider shot of the countryside there? Unless, you're keeping the locations secret, then I understand why you can't. I love all the information and I enjoy seeing the ecosystem that is under the sand.

I tried some Clams the other day - so so tasty; like mussels but a bit sweeter and the texture is more 'creamy' like Prawns. Luxurious eating; I wouldn't say for less because the London fisherman charged me £15 for a Kilo & he said that's a good deal! I think they were dark-coloured Quahogs. I'm after Littlenecks & Razor clams now but I heard the Razor clams are very rare.
