Thanks Javan, Thats why I put the videos up. If you need help let me know, but remember observation on the stream and your imagination are vital in tying flies that work. Just remember your proportions.

Love your videos Jim. Can these flies with bead heads be tied without the beads?
@TheFlymanJim7 жыл бұрын
Yes they can simply leave the bead off. Still a great fly.

+Shawn Wilson Sure it is . use the belly hair for dubbing. The tail can be used for streamers.

+Jim Misiura Thank you Jim! I have coworkers giving me furs for tieing and I have been using things like tortilla wrappers, and acid cigar wrappers (it's very reflective). I'm new at tieing and your videos help a lot! :D

Size and length of tail and bead size with a straight hook shaft are the keys. Copper is the most important color of all of the beads. You can reuse the copper beads by soaking them in white vinegar. Old stained beads effect the strike frequency. I use crystal flash instead of peacock for the wing casing. For 12 to 24 inch streams below a small strike indicator it's a sure every time. I don't have much luck with the Pheasant Tail in deeper water. He's using lead and I'll try that for deeper or swifter water.

Thanks for the tip on reusing the beads.
