Backroads are the best and they lead to the best treasures. Thanks for sharing so I can see all the beauty I missed, but treasure the beauty I saw!

Great video! I grew up a stone's throw away from "Connoly's Folly" (the "Obelisk", as it's known locally. Before it was fenced off, you could actually climb up the interior staircase to the arches above. The Wonderful Barn (I literally grew up 200 metres from it!) was also built by the same family, and you can see the Obelisk from on top. Down where I am, within 2 km as the crow flies is the remains of a medieval Norman complex (the baron was a Knight Templar), including Straboe graveslab. A little further, you've got Haroldstown Dolmen, Rathgall Ringfort, Lisnagvagh House and more mottes than I could list.

I have found that people do indeed pack their trips with far too many sites to see. Stop at a local pub, always a warm welcome, and plenty of craic. The locals will also know some of the really good, off the beaten path types to see.

Fergal, you are of course assuming that all tourists are driving around Ireland. Beautiful video (as always) and great to the beautiful countryside. BTW, did you get your ears lowered??

Fergal, nice video! Can I ask what kit you use to shoot your vids? Some type of 360 in there I imagine? Drone? Thanks! Peace, brother. -Jeff
