Ironic, right? They only made it to the second round thanks to a couple of penalties (one to defeat Serbia and another to tie a match they were losing to Australia). In the end they missed a penalty that could have qualified them to the semis and during the penalty shoot out they lost it all. But the play that ended up in that last minute penalty comes from a SIMULATION by a Ghanian player

If you think he cheated there because he deliberately broke the rules, then any tactical foul is also cheating no matter where, when, or how it was done. If you're actually making that case then (no pun intended) bite me. You'd be better served making the case that diving is cheating, because the player is not only deliberately breaking the rules, but he's attempting to deceive the referee as well. Suarez didn't do that when he handled the ball to stop it from going in. He broke the rules knowing he'd receive a red card. It was a calculated infraction just like any tactical foul to stop a fast break. Stop making it more than that just because Gyan missed the subsequent penalty and Ghana went on to lose the match. I notice that no one seems to remember that the foul never occurred, so technically Ghana shouldn't have had a free kick in the first place. Has anyone seen the moments prior to that last minute penalty during Uruguay vs. Ghana? There was a free kick that would eventually ended up in that penalty: that kick comes from a foul that DID NOT EVEN EXIST since a Ghanian player faked an infraction (no one even touched him). Therefore had Ghana scored, it would have been equally unfair. Suarez was sent off (as he had to be) and Ghana got a penalty they could not convert, that is not Suarez' fault. Penalties (in the match and during a penalty shoot out) keep Ghana from making it further and curiously Ghana made it past the first round due to just a couple of penalties, no goals in open play

I don't get it. We're only talking about the Suarez thing the way we do because Gyan missed that penalty, right? Had he just simply scored that penalty nobody would have complained about it and Suarez would have looked like a baffoon. This way he's just a hero.

Suarez may have cheated with that handball. But think about why he had to do it, it's a gamble! If Asamoah Gyan actually scored the penalty, Suarez should be even more scolded that he is now. But it's Gyan who missed the Penalty, it's his fault not Suarez. It was a huge gamble and the right numbers came up for Uruguay. That's why they won!

People need to get over it and actually watch the whole series of events of Suarez's handball. Suarez saved Uruguay from unfair elimination when the ref called a free kick from a blatant dive in the 120th minute. And to top it off, on said free kick, before the handball, the play should've been called offside.

Honestly Suarez during the World Cup wasn't THAT big of a deal. Ghana may have be robbed of the goal, but they still HAD the chance to score with a penalty. It was Ghana not being able to close them off. They also had overtime to score. It's not like that one moment ended Ghana's chances

Man.. The only reason Suarez didn't shake Evra's hand was because Evra retracted his hand when Suarez was approaching him, making Suarez think Evra didn't want to shake his hand. I don't understand why Suarez always gets the blame for that hand shake
