The disrespect to Eddie Howe really is unbelievable. He wasn’t bad at Bournemouth, he literally saved their football club and brought them from league 2 to the Premier League, got them 9th, kept them up for 5 seasons, and then got loads of injuries in their relegation season. Then he came into a rotten Bruced Newcastle team, second bottom who everyone said were already down, and finished comfortably 11th with Trippier and Wilson injured, turning players who’s careers looked over into crucial first team players.

@@owenthompson5214 Potter has the Ostersund story and progressed the team in the Prem better than Howe. Rodgers literally won trophies. Moyes has decades of keeping Everton in top Prem places, got to cup finals, took West Ham to Europe. Putting those three in front of Howe is not even worth debating.
@keitholiver61522 жыл бұрын
If we are basing this on history Rodgers wins hand down, followed by Moyes. But we aren't. We are looking at right now and the future, with the past in mind. Rodgers and Moyes are on downward spirals. West Ham & Palace will finish comfortably mid table, far behind Howes Newcastle. Howes managerial style will take Newcastle to top 4, top 6 contenders this year. Potter is very similar to Howe. If you watched Newcastle Palace recently you'd see how wrong your comments are Pat. Viera is still learning his style is counter attacking football mostly, lacking top quality structure to dominate games. He is relying on the likes of Zaha

Disagree about van Persie having a longer prime than van Nistelrooy. First of all, what are we talking about prime, when they were at the top of their game or who played longer in the Premier League. van Nistelrooy scored 384 career goals, to van Persie's 322. From 1998 to 2008, van Nistelrooy was at his goalscoring best . That's a 10 year period. He scored less than 20 goals in all comps twice, the last season at PSV and the 04-05 season at United, both of which he was hampered with injury. In that 10-year career span he scored 313 goals. It's hard to find a real, long-sustained period for van Persie of his goalscoring prime, that could even compare to van Nistelrooy. I would use his first 20-goal season in 08-09 to his last 20-goal season with Fenerbahce in 15-16. That 8-year period he scored 212 goals for club and country. van Nistelrooy literally scored 9 less goals in his 10-year prime than van Persie did in his entire career. Complete recency bias, imo. Also, Bergkamp is completely overrated.
