@@newyorks-cheesecake I have solved the problem since. If you don't want to read about the ridiculous things Apple put me through after I posted my comment skip around to the end where i give the solution.Apple computer people on their helpline, they had to do a screen share to understand what i was talking about. Unbelieveable. The guy at first told me, "It isn't Mojave. You never could do such a thing with Mac computers to protect copyright." I quickly set him straight. But then he tried to tell me that people use their microphones to record their speakers playing internal audio and that that was how even commercial recordings using computers were done. Outrageous or just incomprehensible levels of ignorance. They are completely a shambles over there. You are given numbers to call for more expert people and the numbers are no longer in service. You are told, we'll email you within two days with a solution. No email in two days or even a week. 9 days later I get an email about an application I will have to purchase so that I can record internal audio in Ableton. However 1 week earlier I had already gone to Ableton's website and they have a full article about the problem and as they explain, it arises from yet another aspect of Apple computer's completely shoddy corporate practices. When you install Mojave, it asks you, "Would like to give this appilcation and that application control over your microphone?" It is phrased just like that as I recall. Who in their right mind would say, "Yeah sure, just use the microphone on my computer anyway you see fit. Sure, guy! Right! be me guest! My computer is your computer!" The question is phrased that way because they don't want you using your computer. Of course you say no. They want to use your computer or have you use it exactly as they would have you use it. Not do something unheard of and outrageous like use a Mac computer to make tunes, oh no, your goin there now, keep out! That seems clear to me. Anyway, what Ableton explained was that, what saying yes to allow control of your microphone means is that you will be able to use the computer's internal audio with the apps. Of course these apps could always use your microphone to listen in on your converstaions, though likely not. I crank the input volume on my microphone completely down to zero anyway and so should everyone. Anyone who wants can listen in on you. They likely can anyway but at least the hacker kids next door can't, so just turn it the input volume off duh! Its just scare tactic language, "Do you want them to have CONTROL over your microphone!?!" So all you have to do is go into the privacy settings and then look under the permissions tab and give the apps that you use for internal audio such as a music production program a tick in their tick boxes. Its mind blowingly bad that Apple either has staff so incompetent and uinformed that they don't know this fundamental difference between Mojave and earlier OSXs or that Apple simply refuses to help you with the problem so that you'll buy an app fixes what simply ticking some boxes in your security permissions allows. Sorry for the rant, but really I'm fit to be tied, I spent thousand on my computer music set up to be told to use the computer speakers and record that with the microphone!

Question and comment: Where is the "Soundbar" feature that you mention at 1:40 in your video ? You called soundbar a "really cool feature where you can hear the internal audio that is happening on your mac, but it's not going to interfere with the recording process". I am looking for this - where can I find soundbar ?

They unfortunately changed this a bit - you now have to go into Audio/MIDI settings on the Mac to hear the audio in real time. I can do a follow up video
