NEW 2022 Insignia F20 720p TV - Best TV under $100

Hey Guys, I have been collecting Insignia TVs for years now but the 2022 Insignia F20 is a BIG improvement from prior years. I explain all the improvements for the most affordable TV I could find on Amazon. I compare it to the 2022 F20 1080p and the Hisense U6HF Fire TV (similar to U6g) as it has been heavily discounted recently. Is it better than the TCL, Samsung, Sony, LG tvs? This is precisely the video I was needing right now! It's surprisingly difficult to find anyone who is willing to review TVs of this size, and just as difficult to find a decent television under 55 in! Which I cant understand, because I personally wouldn't want a TV above 32" in my bedroom.

IM going to review this tv too soon, because Im with you, ive been trying to find a sub 40" tv for my office, that I dont want to spend a lot of money on and its been very hard to find reviews, and although this mans review was great, id like to get more of the "lifestyle" use review, ya know?

You should first take precise measurements of the spot where the TV will be positioned at, as well as check on the exact dimensions of the TV you plan on getting. If you have enough room for a slightly larger TV, then definitely consider it. Also, determine just how far or close will you be viewing the TV from. Optimum viewing distance from a 32" TV would be somewhere like around 3 to 5 feet.

You are a GREAT gentleman, and I always enjoy watching your TV reviews! At this price point (currently at $70 - $80 USD), you really couldn't ask for more... The good overall picture quality, decent-sized screen, 3 HDMI inputs, and low energy consumption (only $7 a year) makes this TV a really sweet deal. While 1080p isn't really necessary at this screen size, what I think would've made this TV perfect is HDR. Of course, you're NOT gonna be getting that kinda feature at this price point. But if you have the room for it tho, the 42" version of this model offers full 1080p resolution and is probably an even better value for just a bit more money.

I think that for this price it is unbeatable, here in Spain they do not exist, I did not know that Amazon brand TV existed. For many people, that TV more than meets the basics, in addition to having the support of Amazon. It would be good in the future if Amazon gave the option in 1080P.

There is a 1080p option but its over 100. I tested them side by side and the 1080p is slightly brighter with slightly better contrast even though its 1080p.

@@TheFrenchGlow The 42 inch 1080p version draws twice as much power (113 watts as opposed to 57 watts). I think that it mainly has to do with providing enough brightness for the larger screen size. The 32 inch 720p version runs on half as much power, and resolution-wise I doubt there is hardly any discernible difference in the PQ. You're gonna have to place them side-by-side, and run the same HD feeds on both of them, with both TVs set on the same exact picture mode/settings in order to tell if there's ANY noticeable or perceivable difference at all. At that price point, I would ONLY suggest getting the 42 inch 1080p version if your entertainment space has enough room for it (regarding TV placement and optimum viewing range), and if you also don't mind the higher energy costs to operate it.

720p is perfect for live streaming. I personally hated how 4k content is a buffer simulator even with a 500+ mbps download and 200 mbps upload. Plus 4k streaming goes well close to 3 tbs a month alone! If our data capped dont even bother. All I ask for are mini led, qled or oled versions for 720p and 1080p tvs

If your PC's video card supports 1366 x 768, then just set it to output at THAT resolution and you should get crisp and clear images on this TV... BTW, 1366 x 768 is the native resolution of this TV.

I want to know if the 32" has a 12v DC power barrel jack and how many NITs You said the 24 has a plug but the 32" is hardwired? ?? If it's not 12v DC like all other smaller Insignia TV's it's a deal breaker, because you wont' be running it in an RV or camping.

No, the power cord is detachable from the backside of the TV. The design specs are pretty much identical for all 3 screen sizes of the F20 series (24"/32"/42"). You can google pics of the TV's backside if you're still not too shure about this.

The smaller the tv the less difference you will see. If u put the same size tvs next to each other you can tell. But for me id rather have the 720 for alot less money

The 42 inch version of this TV has 1080p, but besides the difference in size (25% bigger) I seriously doubt you could discern any noticeable difference in the PQ... TVs that are 32 inches or smaller really don't need 1080p. As long as you try to run your all AV devices in it's native resolution (1366 x 768 or 720p), you should get a reasonably crisp and clear image on the screen.

Although a bargain priced TV with a good picture. These TVs don't give you many years of good service. Expect them to last not longer than 4-5 years. If the TV is watched at least 8 hours per day.

I have been hearing alot of good things about Insignia from people claiming that they last quite a long time... The reason why they don't break down as much is because they don't have all those complex picture/sound processors and gizmoz like the big-name brands have. Lower screen resolution + less processing also means they consume less power. That's why the panels run alot cooler and don't burn out as quick. But in 4-5 years, you will probably be shopping around for a newer TV anyways.

@OtomoTenzi My comment was written a year ago approximately. I bought my Insignia TV in 2019. I have it in my bedroom. I have 2 other TVs, both Samsung 1080p types in the living room and another bedroom. They are older than my Insignia TV. I found out that currently, Insignia TV's components are made by TCL and Hisense Brands. Best Buy Stores sells them exclusively. Insignia now makes a minimum 43" 4K TV that you can buy at a really bargain price. My Insignia TV is now 5 years old. But, it's only on for about 4 hours per day. So, I may get another 2-3 more years out of it. Or give it away and buy another new TV. The picture quality of my Insignia does not match the quality of my Samsung 1080p TVs. They cost more money. Of course.

720p has evolved quite alot these days... The PQ on these new budget-priced TVs in the 32 to 42 inch class are no longer fuzzy or suffering from poor black levels anymore. The contrast and brightness is pretty good on these TVs. The sound is also quite decent for a bedroom or small living room. Go to your local retailer to get an in-person demo if you're not convinced.

@@JamesDean-vl3uf NO modern TV can ever reproduce the same accurate colors as a hi-end plasma TV such as the Pioneers or Panasonics from back in the day... The Samsung F8500 was one of the very last plasmas ever to roll off the assembly line (their flagship model). It has all the signature deep blacks, and rich colors, but also high enough peak brightness to even combat direct sunlight in really bright living rooms with alot of light. That is one of the very best plasmas every made, and is truly- worth every penny.
