When we adopted Mae Li there were locks all along the Great wall of China and we placed locks there for her with engravings of the year and the adoption day. We saved the coordinates so we can find it again and show her when we go for a Heritage visit:) It always makes me so happy when you guys get to see your parents. I was so excited when you surprised your dad at the hotel that time:))) I'm so glad the clinic day went great. Ollie is so amazing and obedient. Such a good boy! HE'S ~JUST~SO~CUTE!! Ah!!! Those baby heads are really odd!! LOL!! Glad you only had to deal with a short clinic today, and that ice cream looked awesome! I loved Ollie's winks! :). What a great time to visit with your Dad too!! :). Today was an awesome day, I had a "Meet the Dog" event at our local service dog organization. I retired my guy due to heart issues right before he turned 2 yrs old. (He's a Boxer, Cardiomyopathy is awful!) :(. So I have been on a waiting list for 3 years, and I didn't have a connection during a Meet the Dog event 18 mo. Ago. Today I met 5 dogs, and I had a completely amazing connection with the last dog! He and I just had a connection and it felt perfect! I fell in love!! They are interviewing about 8 more potential partners, so I won't know if they will match us for another week or 2. Mary, he is so sweet just like Ollie!! (Except He's a yellow lab.). I'm so excited, and am praying hard that they will match us together! :). Hope your today was a good one!!

Do you ever feel goofy going to a children's hospital? I have to go to Lebonheur Children's hospital in Memphis for anaphylaxis and my ENT doc. I always feel like all of the kids are wondering why I am at their Hospital.

The "Love Locks" bridge is in Ireland. It is actually the Ha'Penny bridge. There might be one in Paris too, but I think it originated there. Google it. I might be wrong about it being the first, but it was so full that they had to cut them off.

You guys were on a roll with good songs tonight between David Crowder (my favorite) in the car and Ophelia (which is a super catchy song) playing in the background at the ice cream place. Glad the clinic went well even though you had to be pricked a few times and I'm happy you got to see your dad! That must be so nice! There's a short section by this dam on our really big lake in South Carolina that is covered in locks too but I wasn't ever sure though if people are supposed to lock away their secrets or their love? Either way they're still copycats of the place in France too haha Ollie's grassy feet were super cute and I feel like how he was laying too. it's been pouring rain where I'm at in Florida and it was so humid that the windows in our zoo hospital at my work were so foggy you couldn't see in the treatment room at all! Even when we squijeed the windows they just fogged right back up and the humidity made the floors super slippery but thankfully the air condition guys were able to come cool the place down a bit. The storms just made the whole day kind of muggy and tiring which is why I kinda feel like how Ollie was on the couch haha

Mary, why are they doing blood work out of your hands normally? In Germany they usually do it at the ellbow.

A lot of nurses start with your hands and move up your arm because it gives them more options if a vein blows. If you stick the elbow and it blows, you can't go below that. So they start as low as they can and move upward toward the elbow if they need to. (We do the same on dogs and cats in veterinary medicine.)

They go straight to my elbow since that normally works on me, they typically look for the best veins since mine are not great.

OMG, When my son was 17 he was hospitalized at it the Floating Hospital for Children, it is hooked up to Tuft's we wanted to go for a walk and told the staff. For some reason there were like no children there during his stay. No kidding the entire staff was in shock at how few children were admitted during that time. Any way, we left the floor and went downstairs to the lobby, went to the cafeteria went outside for a bit and then went back up and checked in and then went up to the "playroom" and looked around. Boy was it so much better than the one at UMASS that he had stayed at for the times he was admitted there when he was younger. This place had a regulation pinball machine, computers that hooked up to the internet full size arcade games in the older teen section. For movies they had everything from Rated G to R since they did have 17 through 20 year old's staying on the Pedi floor. Anyway, I digress, the second day he was antsy and it was a beautiful day in Boston so we told the staff we were going to take a walk and went downstairs again and then since it was such a pretty day, we took a walk around the hospital, went into Chinatown, up the road, down the road, and eventually ended up at the Commons. We had lunch at one of the eateries around there and then walked on back. We told the staff we were back and they mentioned that we had been gone for a long time and my son said that we just took a walk and ended up at the Common and I thought the nurse was going to faint! She said we couldn't do that! What if his IV port had started to leak? I said it was fine, I was trained to help. They forbid us to go outside the hospital again.. The next day we went back up to the playroom and he decided to play pinball and that is where his IV port gave way. Interesting that no one in that place knew what to do or had anything to give him besides a diaper to put on his arm. We calmly road the elevator back down the one floor and had the nurse put a new one in. She didn't say anything the next day when we told her we were going for a walk. LOL
