Honestly the reason why I don't tend to enjoy Watcher runs as much isn't because I don't know how to play her, but rather because she is so strong. I enjoy runs where I have no idea if you'll win or lose, where there's struggle and challenge. Going into a watcher video I always know it's going to be an easy win. It's the Watcher. Of course it is.

I find that the Watcher's biggest problem is that her good cards are so good that they're always auto includes when you have a winning deck. You watch the Ironclad and his decks feel varied with either big damage or big block. You watch a Silent run and it could be shivs, poison, or maybe even some weird discard thing. You watch the Defect and you've got diversity within all of the orbs (not to mention a bit of the claw action). But every Silent win always feels like the same stuff. An empty fist, a rushdown, omniscience and vault are snap picks and every other rare is doo doo. She's fun to play, but I think that her winning decks play too similarly to be as fun over and over again. Like, the Watcher always has lethal, but you've never beaten the heart with a freaking retain matters deck, or by choosing to take an establishment. I don't know what I'd suggest other than trying the other strats out, but A20 is a harsh mistress (I know. I can't get past A5), so I can't imagine it being easy
@WillyWillow2 жыл бұрын
My opinion on Watcher content is that, save for a few runs, always end up the same. I think this is why chat goes FERAL during Pressure Points runs and other things. It's still giga content for you to get some cool relic combo and then infinite on the heart, but other than that, it always seems to end the same.

Watcher is the one character I have failed with the most. I would Love a guide on watcher that focuses on builds or understanding priorities with her. Thanks for making great content!
@vincenttechin57222 жыл бұрын
I started the game recently. Let me tell you, Watcher is my most favorite so far out of all the 4. I think the reason why people refuses to pick her up is solely because they have been playing and putting more hours in with the 3. As a new player I see no difference in all the classes in terms of difficulty to learn. Watcher coming later just means people are less likely to try something new with brain. They are more likely to stick with what they know. I think coming to the game fresh. Watcher feels the best to play as. To me Defect is the hardest in terms of concept to grasp.

The psychological reason people dont like playing the watcher its because she seems like a monk wich invokes the idea of peace. The Spire is about struggle so "The Defect" and "The Guy Who Takes The Hits And Keeps Going" seems more in tune with the game's tematic
