As a young kid I used to walk to school with some friends my age. One of them had a big sister who was just a few years older than us who would lead our group as we all walked to school together. One morning a truck pulls up to us in the one stretch of our walk where we weren't in front of, or around peoples houses. A guy in the truck immediately starts getting out and approaching us while asking us if we knew what time it was. The girl leading our group told him we don't know what time it is but he kept approaching us. She told us all to run so we all started running from the guy. Her included. I heard the guy yelling behind us that he just wants to know what time it is, I looked back to see he was chasing us. He stopped chasing us when we got to a neighborhood nearby. I've always wondered what would have happened if she didn't tell us to run. She later said she saw the truck the last few days as we were walking to school.

Such a shame that youtube compels us to self-censor references to specific types of crimes, as if the words and terms are equal to the crimes themselves. We need to be able to discuss freely, especially in such documentaries involving that subject matter. "Well you know what words were censored" doesn't cut it, and that's the point. We don’t understand because we are empathetic, compassionate, with a moral compass. Many of these men are psychopaths and are unencumbered by morals, conscience, and feelings. Albert DeSalvo, (the Boston strangler), came to our home in Feb '67. He escaped jail for a few days and had been to several homes on our street. I was just over 2 years old. He pounded on doors and windows all around the house. I don't know how he didn't come inside that day, but I imagine that he heard my sister and me crying or Mama's loud prayers. He was captured just a few blocks away.
@JudyThomas-m5b22 күн бұрын
De Salvo usually wore a uniform, like a city worker, etc. The residents let him in, didn't know he wasn't what he appeared to be, this was 50s or 60s, people were more trusting then. Doubtful De Salvo would knock on a door if he could hear crying or praying, all his victims were alone, no crying or anything before the victims opened their doors, how he usually got inside. 😮😢
