This is still one of my favorite scenes, every one of them acted it to perfection. So relatable to many men and women. The fact that Rita and Tom are married in real life makes it even better. They'd been married 5 years here but still going strong after 36 years!

I love Rita Wilson in this scene. I totally do the same thing, describing some favourite scene from a film to someone who must be inwardly rolling their eyes and wishing I would shut up. But my enthusiasm forces them, in some cases, to be polite. Love the Dirty Dozen description on the men’s part. Point taken.

I was 5 years old when this movie came out and it was one of my mom's favorite uplifting movies so I knew like all of the words from a young age. When I finally saw An Affair to Remember, the film she's gushing about, I was like "I finally get what that woman in Sleepless in Seattle was talking about with the movie and the Empire State Building! 😢💔♥️😣"

If I ever have to tell anyone about the movie Encanto, and espeically about 'Bruno's vantage point' (the crack in the wall)... I'd be EXACTLY like Rita Wilson in this scene, only moreso. Much moreso. She did a fantastic job here. No wonder Tom Hanks fell in love with her.

It's meant to draw our attention to how similar Meg Ryan and Rosie O'Donnell's characters to Rita Wilson's character. Ryan describes Wilson as a "hoe" to O'Donnell at on point and then immediately admits she seems someone she and O'Donnell would be friends with.

When that statistic came out it was a BFD. Remember this was the era of movies about psychopath nannies and roommates and mistresses. Think it was like a cover story in Newsweek (and it may have been killed by lightning strike) but regardless I think they were making fun of the whole brouhaha around it and collective sigh of relief when it was debunked.
