Nice video, but I'm concerned that alot of that silage is mostly water from how wet the ground was and the grass was when it went in, But I cant wait to see it being shown to see if it went bad or good
@Sooty7 ай бұрын
In December and winter / spring, we all had lots of rain storms and flooding. Seems that water made the grass grow 😁 Great for silage

Harry it simple to drive looking at that the front turn the cab stays once you get usedof it when doing silage keep the out sides high .I've driven bigger one the smallest was 4 skups to fill lorry body which are 20 ton 21 max .while artic lorry take 26 ton maximum the biggest I,'ve been on was 1skups the last time I did silage was 410 job back in 80 in Ireland. I used to load 250 lorry in a day a bizy boy then day .silage was the best crack Richard
@HughzieTube7 ай бұрын
You really should dig that back section out and just pile it back on the front when they clamp is full. By the time you come to use it, its going to well past its best and the cows will turn their noses up at it.

It's 11 June here in tipperary Ireland. About to do first cut pit silage this week we got he'll crop off grass. 10 acers more than what we usually cut. The contractor has a new loader pushing up this year. He went from jcb 414s to 419s.

Ever considered putting excess silage in the other clamp and covering it with the Maize Richard?
@JimF5007 ай бұрын
I bet there is a knack to keeping at the right pace to the machine that is collecting the silage, you would want to be brave to operate the machine at the clamp. Why is the old silage at the back? Will this not be used first?

Would you not consider using a tractor and weighted packer to compress the grass and improve silage quality?
@jamie3767 ай бұрын
I would agree with Harry not wanting to BuckRake and compact silo incase something goes wrong and u go over the edge I especially wouldn’t be comfortable doing it if young farmer family kids messing around as i don’t want the blame if something happens if they adventure up the pit were shovel or handler is at work
