Out of the top 5 videos I saw for this program yours was by far the most thorough. You explained the controls themselves which is what was tripping me up. The other guys would jump right in to "Ok let make this object." They would briefly describe projects, and how to save your file, but wouldn't describe the controls themselves. Thank you for breaking this down and being thorough.

Question: 15:51 What's the advantage of keeping each sketch/extrusion as a separate body rather than joining them?

I so much enjoyed this part 1. I have tried other tutorials and constantly got lost. I appreciate you going into the more detail of what you click on etc. I did have a problem following you in one part, the dowel. After many failures, I finally got it to work but I don't understand how. I guess what I don't understand is how you selected the hole (circle). I hope you can clear that up for me or direct me to where I could get a better understanding of this. You have the best instruction I have yet found and I plan to stay with you as my primary instructional video. Thanks

Hi everyone! Let me know if you have any questions about this video in the comments below! :)

What caused me a problem was at about 18:24, the rectangle tool is used to carefully mark out the EXTREME corners, but then a little later, when performing the extrude, the 'missing long rectangular section also has to be selected to obtain the full base. The words used are "make sure that I've picked up this face as well", which I missed on a couple of viewings. The question is why ?
@jameswhite63889 ай бұрын
I got tripped up on the same thing. Why didn't it just grab the whole thing when you select the rectangle? I'm so brand new to this that I may not even be asking the right question. In any case, @koshkakk, thanks for your comment; you saved me from flunking the first tutorial!

As a complete beginner, this is by far my favorite series on this software! My main question is - is there anything different I should be doing if I am mainly creating objects for 3D printing as opposed to woodworking (or other forms of manufacturing?) Such as: Should I still be creating new bodies for different "parts" of my files - or should I be joining them? Thanks again for the great tutorials!

The most frustrating thing about Fusion is nothing seems to work for me like what is demonstrated. @21:30 When I click the inside face of the object, then try to create a sketch for the wall, I cannot get the line to continue past the 2nd point. I click to place the first point, enter 3/4 for the length, the tool asks to specify the next point, when I click, the line ends. I'm not able to continue the line, it doesn't say specify the next point like it did when i created the first sketch. I must have accidentally turned something off that allows me to continue the line to create a shape, but I have no idea what. I've searched forums and no one else seems to have this issue. Any ideas?

This Might be me getting ahead of myself. And maybe you did it this way to show the tools better. But I found once I had one wall and one side I merged the two objects and them duplicated them and rotated them/moved them until they moved into each other such that I mirrored the shape and had both sides and the front and the back. Is there a reason not to do this?

I agree and support all the compliments said by others in their comm and I have some questions: you said to always select New Body and not Join. What is the reason for that? Is it specific to this project only? I, for e.g., need to make an enclosure (box + lid) for 3D printing with different material and/or vacuum casting. When is it ok to join the sketches?

Hmmm. Installed F360 3/12/24. Started in on this tutorial, and everything goes good until I get to extruding the handle at 19:12. I've redone this three times, and the centerpoint for the circle no longer exists on the outer edge of the end. The centerpoint for the circle on the inside edge exists and I can extrude from there, but that leaves a hole in this end, and extends the handle .75" past the outside edge of the other end panel. That would be fine, except I can't select the handle to move it... (yes it was created as a body.) Any ideas?

This has been a good video compared to other but you really need to slow down and properly explain steps and where to find things instead of just going to options and doing them. I spent 10 minutes skipping back and playing it again just to grasp what your doing while trying to do it myself. For beginners it's far to hard to keep up while splitting attention. You teach as though this is a refresher for a second year class and not step by step explanations for people who haven't touched this program
