I love the scale of MP but not the price. I only ever had 2 of them. MP4 prime with trailer, and the first attempt at MP Megatron. Both are MUCH better now. I don't regret selling the earlier versions at all.

I feel like they kept him on the smaller side to scale well with the inevitable Rodimus Prime they're bound to release at some point. Great review, Robo!

The welder comes in handy because the Kupp figure actually does have a gimmick where it comes apart and can be put back together 😂

I started collecting Transformers about three years ago and I remember how everyone reacted to Siege Optimus Prime, how impressive the engineering was for a voyager class. Earthrise Prime made Siege Prime look archaic in comparison and IMO Hasbro has one-upped themselves again with Studio Series Hot Rod. The level of improvement in such a short amount of time is staggering.

Was Siege three years ago? I think Hasbro slipped one in my goody bag at NYTF 19 and it was downhill after that, and the rate of improvement is insane since then. I do have Earthrise but not enough room to display everything yet, waiting for more space before cracking all these TFs open.

Dig the stop motion transformation. Awesome. I can't believe how fast they've cranked out not only season 1 and 2 of G1 but Beast Wars too. All we need is Galvatron, Blaster, Preceptor, and the rest of the Dinobots to finish out the main cast of characters fur the movie. I'm also still waiting on Power Glide, Cosmos, and Seaspray from S2.

Yeah, it was only a couple of years ago I wasn't buying any Transformers at all, then suddenly I have a whole pile of boxes waiting to be opened into almost a perfect collection of early G1 figures. It's crazy.

I bought this figure but haven't switched it to vehicle mode yet and I had no idea there was a visor. Amazing. Also the transformation animation had me in stitches. Awesome review!

Nice video. I like the engineering of the visor and the hand switch - everyithing is inside the robot that you just need to switch in. And Hot Rod's face sculpt is nice too.

I just got shipping notices on Hot Rod and Scourge from Hasbro Pulse. Excellent timing my man! They said due in April so it's a happy little surprise here in February. I been trying to steer clear of chug scale but man these new movie bots got me.

I picked up SS86 Grimlock today and he's freaking amazing. Definitely the best of the SS86 line, but he is a leader class after all.

The studio series 86 definitely has that sneaky appeal to them. I do like this clean and simple color scheme for Hotrod.

Yeah, any other line I'd be "needs more paint, needs less shine, needs more articulation" but this hits a sweet spot with it's design.

Dude. I just got back from Target picking up my daughter's aloe vera gel, and checked the toy aisles of course...found Hot Rod 🔥 Been wanting this one! And yes, definitely going to get the Studio86 line, and many more from War for Cybertron line. They just look so good, and engineering has vastly improved.

So since you've said that you have a ton of figures that you haven't opened, have you ever thought about doing a livestream where you go ahead and just open a ton at a time? I know the figure or fodder is for that but those are so few and far between and require a lot more work, a livestream would be a nice way to get through a good stack of figures at once without needing to make a full video on them

Haha, no, didn't miss it, for some reason I felt the overwhelming urge to crack Cyclonus open and just play, no camera, no talking to myself in a lonely closet. And I think that's what pushed me to get Hot Rod and actually give him the full rundown. But now I realize you're hinting to do a review on Cyclonus, haha. Probably not. Maybe Scourge?
