I lived in Buenos Aires for 2 years, and i do agree that almost nothing in this world comes close to a great Argentine steak, with a beautiful Argentina wine. I use to have an asado once a week with my neighbors. Also, i loaded up on empanadas like crazy. Every times for lunch, i would get empanadas con carne (and egg) and empanadas with jamon y queso. Great memories.

Tyler Jacobson That fine everyone has their own preferences :) But make sure to go to Argentina and have it there! There's a world of difference between an Argentine restaurant in London and one that's in Argentina!
@tylerjacobson8012
@tylerjacobson8012 9 жыл бұрын
Ya.. I will say that the chef that prepared my argentine steak prepared it better than the kobe steak.. he who was from Argentina used a weird mix of spices that just really accentuated the beef flavor.. the kobe cut though is just the most superior beef cut I've ever had. It's so well marbled just oozes flavor.. but the Japanese chef that made that for me prepared it on a flat top with Asian flavors which didn't pop and accentuate the beef thr way the argentine chef did. I'd like to see an argentine chef grill me a kobe steak though that be probably the best thing in the world.

Original Name Nah Croatian beef is way better than Argentinian. You can use it as insulating material if you're building a new house, you can use it as soles for your shoes, if you've got some really heavy-duty machines that turn big rocks into small stone pieces, you can make burgers out of it. If you slow cook it for a week, you can even eat it straight away. A steak that's not so tough you end up in a hospital after eating it because your jaw is broken, you're missing teeth and your colon is blocked, is not a proper steak.

Hristo Hristoff I'm Argentinian and I've never heard of Leprechauns (except from some German friends); Afaik, Santa Claus (known as Papá Noel here) is still a thing in more developed countries (like the US, Japan, etc), so we're not alone and the people that still believe the Falklands are ours are either war vets or people that weren't even alive when the war ended yet still complain about it. Thanks for what you said about our cooking though.

I don't know...someone might have said this in Spanish. But, I am told that, in Argentina, the meat is usually not aged. It is a bit tougher than some might prefer, but also more flavorful.
@piccanninni

True, and its not usually grass fed either; since the collapse of the Argentinian economy the cheaper method of grain feeding prevails.
@papitosabe

piccanninni Not sure if some large exporting companies does the grain feeding, but most local small places, where most people in Argentina get meats from are grass fed. Where did you hear that the cows aren't usually grass fed?

papitosabe if they are mass produced there is a good chance they are grain fed, like most other countries in south america I think

Actually, I know because I am from Argentina and I live in the part of the country where the best meat comes from, and we have so much field for the animals to walk around and eat as much grass as they want, that it would actually be more expensive to feed them grain, than to just let them eat grass. The smallest field in our region is 100 square hectares, so yeah, animals are grass fed, not grain fed.

Angel Junior Gamba In the whole of America with the exception of Argentina, partly Uruguay and some places in Brazil, most of cattle is being fed with compunds in feed-lots...that is why everything meaty tastes like crap as it does in Europe...

+MLG Neighbor lol that's because empanadas are very bland and not that great honestly. That's why you need the chimichurri to drown it in for some flavour.

I have to admitt that i don't like bone aged beef that is older that one week. I find it to be catching a smell that i associate with dead people. I like the beef to smell fresh and then just add taste by using pepper, sea salt, and and a hint of garlic and rosemary. The rest of the taste will do the charcoal.
