Great video but please say the names of the awards rather than just having the graphic, for those of us who listen but don't always pay attention to the screen!

I agree. First video of this channel I’ve ever watched/listened to, and I got confused right out of the gate when I was not actively looking at the screen and heard: “…… (music)….. is Compile”. My reaction: wait….what? Just a little off-putting and something that could be easily remedied.

So happy to see Kelp make the list. This was a huge surprise for me last year. The solo rules on BGG are solid and well worth checking out.

Don't bother making a game of the year prompt if you're going to just say, wait for the next video. Don't even mention it if you're doing that. Nothing is more annoying than that.

It seems like most people like the anticipation, or at least don’t mind it especially for the biggest award of the year given this is the 12th year of this end of year style video with having over 120k views for this end of year specific video over the 12 years and this is the first complaint about it I recall.

Great video, thanks. I always enjoy your recommendations. Since my game collection is getting large, I’ve slowed the pace of purchases and holding back on the hype of the latest and greatest games. Tower Up and Fromage look very interesting to me. I’m always looking for gateway games to teach others yet want to keep the interest of gamers that I play with, too.

I normally love your recommendations and am excited about trying some of these but landmarks fell flat for me. I wasn’t a fan of how a string of clues stays in the same category and you can almost map out the whole game from the start. I love your videos though!

Did you play the team vs team version or the coop? The subtle game of chicken between what word to put for your team that might end up getting the other team closer to their own treasure gives it much more depth. The team version is 10x better. However if you don’t like clever word games like codenames it’s probably not for you.

@@TheGameBoyGeeks I actually did like the team v team version quite a bit more. But I still love codenames best. I love how every turn is a puzzle of trying to connect new words while avoiding others.

@ i love codenames too. The downside is due to random setup one team could have a very tough draw where the other team might have a list of words easier to connect. In Landmarks you’re not only making clues for now, but also setting yourself up for later.

@ that’s a good point. Well thanks again for all the reviews you do. I’m looking forward to your next top 100.

Thanks for the video and great suggestions. Compile looks like an insta buy. Landmarks looks great too - our Code Names killer is Decrypto.
@TheGameBoyGeeks11 күн бұрын
You’re welcome! I like decrypto a lot but the flow is too fiddly for non gamers I’ve found. United I have a gamer on each team rubbing their team, I still just go for Codenames, or now Landmarks
