As someone who was actually around when these were a thing, this video is full of nostalgia. When I was twelve, I really wanted the Donkey Kong game, but never got it. I received a generic one for Christmas instead, which I played extensively. Today, at 48, I can definitely say that this is my first Nintendo memory. Me wanting Donkey Kong and always asking for it.

When I was 12 in 1991 I wanted a gameboy. My mom got me one for my birthday, but before she gave me the gameboy, as a joke, she gave me Mario the Juggler game and watch. Sad to say I was so mad at first, and then super happy that I got the gameboy. I’m now mad again because my idiot self didn’t care for the Mario the juggler game, and it got lost over the years. Now it’s worth way more than a gameboy 🤣

Back then they made every device different in a lovable way... 2021 they do not add an alarm function to the clock, a stand to the shell (for the clock funtion) or more than three games in their Game&Watch device just because of profit maximization. I bought the 2020 version for 60€ and I think it would've been nice to include REAL Game&Watch games from back then as they are not affordable for many people. But that would've been more struggle than just copying the Mario Bros. 1 ROM... Nintendo quality is not the same anymore. I only know 5 Switch users and two had hardware defects after a few months (including me). From back then I know NO case of broken Nintendo Hardware!
@TheGameDisplay3 жыл бұрын
It really is a shame just how far the quality of things has fallen these days. It's not just Nintendo who's guilty of this, but it definitely hurts with them more because they used to be known for creating such high quality things. I was pretty disappointed with the 2020 Game & Watch as well, as a lot of simple things like a stand or alarm were missing, and then I also thought that including some other built-in Game & Watch games would have been great. Instead it was made as cheaply as possible, and while still cool, could have been so much more. Thank you so much for checking out this video though! I remember having these as a kid. Playing for hours and hours on any long family drive or outing. I remember we had a couple of Game & watch systems. But I don't remember owning any of the big name games such as Mario, Zelda, or Donkey Kong. I'm sure I would have absolutely loved those! Unfortunately all these years later I'm sure they broke or got lost. However I still was able to find and save just one in near mint condition excluding the box. And that was the Pinball game. I find it weird that it wasn't until I was a little older did I even realize that my Pinball game was even made by Nintendo. Me and my brother growing up absolutely loved our plain Nintendo system. Before that we had Atari, and before that The Odyssey, and even further back The Commodore. Our absolute favorite system was SNES aka "Super Nintendo" a bit later. I absolutely loved The Legend of Zelda a Link to The Past. I have to say that was definitely one of my favorite games ever made! But I can't tell you how many times I've re-bought a plain Nintendo system over the years to get back all my old games I grew up playing. I always wished someone would just make one new age system that played all the original games with their original controllers. I think that would have been so cool. I mean there are ways to play a lot of the old stuff today. But there's nothing like an original console to set up and play.

There are two I've looked for on KZbin and Google that I just can't find. One was called Circus, where you would move a trampoline across the bottom and keep the clown from splattering. The other I saw in elementary school, and one of my female classmates had it. I can't remember the name of it, but it was a beauty parlor. You had to greet guests, sit them down, get them a drink, cut their hair and take their payment. The object was to keep them from getting mad while waiting for their haircut.

I remember my older sister having a copy of the Donkey Kong unit and me playing it on the sly every time I could, it was the epitome of coolness, I never got to own a Game and Watch but I did have other lcd games which I enjoyed, even though they didn't have a clock, aside from one called Baseball which did have a clock, but sadly it was a lemon and stopped working after I had it only a short time! Thank you for watching! They're definitely not easy items to come by, especially now. The Game & Watch Gallery games are a great way to experience them for a good price though, and I'd highly recommend those to anyone who's interested. Take care! :)

GREAT & NEAT collection man! 👍😍 I'm an avid Nintendo G&W collector as well and have them all boxed. As well as, many Nintendo G&W flyers & merchandise. However, I'm still missing "Headache" (British version of Helmet). My collection lacks also NOA Pocket Size series (which I'm giving serious thoughts to collect them!) Having that said, there are distributors' names which were imposed on the G&W consoles (such as, CGL, MEGO, J.i 21... etc). But, I'm not sure if I'm going to hunt them!

Man, this is so cool! I'm kinda jealous because these things are worth a fortune nowadays! I just got Donkey Kong Jr today, and I'm looking for batteries for it and hopefully, it works. Wish me luck!

My favorite series is the gold series. I'm only 12 but I hope to own some Game & Watches. I am waiting for some good deals on eBay. I hope to collect all the Game & Watch - the Time Out versions of the early ones and the British Helmet variation and the Famicom Mario and Club Nintendo Ball (I want one but I will consider it like extra credit and I will never get my hands on the Diskun SMB)

My uncle kept a lot of his secret stash and stuff from the 80s and 90s in a cupboard and lost the key . After more than 30 years we finally opened it today and i found a walk band, bunch of baseball,football,dc and marvel collection cards and a bunch of posters and Letters and wen i looked more into the back i found the exact same super mario game and watch in your thumbnail 😅
