When I was about 18 years old I got to make Movie Review articles for an Argentine based page known as Cinéfilos. Literally the very first thing they said to me was: In journalism, there’s no “Me, personally, I think…” etc. It’s all about “We”. It’s worrying that people at IGN are literally representing the brand, and still making things about themselves. Research is KEY, and nowadays is easier than ever, but they seem to always go from personal knowledge/experience, completely ignoring valuable information from fans, forums, official sites and trustworthy sources.

The mispronunciation of Xehanort and Eraqus, reminds me of when they were reviewing Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition a few years back and mispronounced a couple of the main characters (ie, Dunban and Reyn being pronounced as Duncan and Rain). Honestly, I don't like that important series lore was behind a super hard boss rush challenge. I'm glad they had the one-hit kill modes, but it would've been nice to just have a more "in line with the normal fights" difficulty. I like a bit of challenge, just not a huge one. When streaming for a friend I turned one-hit kill on just to show them the Yozora stuff. When playing on my own I cleared, I think, eight of the fights before deciding I'd had enough.

I never really listened to IGN after the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. They complained about the game having too much water. Which is weird. Most review sites wont agree with the fan base. Its the same with audience scores vs rotten tomatoes. The Mario movie was a great explain. The fans loved it but critics hated it. Moral of this story is I ignore sites like IGN.

The "kh 4" image and Eraqeez had me cackling. As much as it is like, opinion pieces, mistakes, lack of manpower when it comes to covering everything fully within a marketable timeframe, it does matter. Because when you are a gaming news source, the goodwill and trust of the fans of said games you are covering is probably the most important thing you need to have. There are other fanbases they have had this happen with too I think. I'm not gonna place all the blame directly on the IGN reporters assigned to articles/reviews/posts, though, I do feel bad, a lot of them probably stepped onto landmines that tanked their credibility because they were assigned to report on things they weren't really familiar with or not being given enough time/resources, stuff outside of their control, yada yada.

2007 child me said the same thing about Roxas in the beginning when playing KH2 when I was wanting to see Sora, who I loved as a kid. I’m like where TF is my boy, Sora? I was so confused and had ADHD. I cried in the beginning of KH2. lol then I remember liking Roxas more as the game carried on. But I remember that first hour of crying alone in my room and playing KH2 was so hard for me but I managed after a while. I was so bad at gaming back then. Also, didn’t play the other games that I should have and couldn’t purchase the other games as a child because they didn’t advertise them well and I wasn’t even aware of their existence because of this.

there's been arguments made by big name game journalists about reviewing games even though you haven't finished them. sometimes a game is too hard or bad or just makes the player want to stop playing. and I've had discussions with friends about the definition of "review", it can just be an opinion which I _guess_ doesn't require beating a game. but most of the time they're considered analyses of a game, so yeah why is it that they think they can score/review something without seeing it ALL the way through (even if it's good or bad) and STILL be called credible? sometimes I'd rather listen to fans of a series or genre who are experts what they're talking about more than a team of people who have to play like EVERY kind of game

I think I posted this comment on a previous video of yours, but it's worth repeating. I remember back when KH3 was nearing release and their Xbox Podcast brought on someone from their team who was specifically there to talk about Kingdom Hearts and get their audience hyped for the game (remember KH3 was the first in the series to come to Xbox). At one point she says "I didn't even play the spin-off games, I just wanted KH3". So in other words, one of their "experts" skipped most of the series. And that right there told me everything I needed to know about IGN's Kingdom Hearts coverage. Now obviously that's just one individual, I'm sure they actually do have people who could talk in depth about the series. But if you're going to put people forward as an expert on a series, and they admit they skipped most of it, then they're not really an expert are they?

I consider the bulk of the Limitcut fights to be poorly designed. Intense visual clutter, excessively long periods of downtime where you can't fight back, and an overabundance of strings of unblockable attacks. The worst offender for visual clutter being Master Xehanort. And the worst for unblockable spam being Saix. Sure they're all beatable, even at level 1. But I consider most of them to be unfun. That said, Yozora is peak. Easily the best designed superboss of the bunch. Only gripe I have is how long his DM is. Aside from that, visual clutter never happens with him, his unblockable are clear and never spammed like an angry moon man, and constant uptime to fight back through the majority of the fight. Feeling more like, well, a fight. Where some of the battles are less of a fight and more a battle of attrition as you wiggle your stick every 15 some seconds at often the fastest at the anime character that did a line of coke and is currently going Super Saiyan Blue X50 featuring Darkness.

IGN has COMPLETELY lost their credibility in my eyes! Not just with Kingdom Hearts. I don't let them influence my game choices. I play what I wanna play not what IGN tells me to play. 9 times outta 10 if IGN likes it I won't, if they don't like it I probably will. IDC if they give a game a perfect 10! If I don't wanna play it, I'm not gonna play it! I also don't care if they give a game a 5-6 and call it bad, if I wanna play it, I'm gonna play it! Anytime a Nintendo game comes out it's guaranteed to get a 9 or 10 from IGN! Even if it's not a good Nintendo game. I know those are few and far between, but I FIRMLY believe Nintendo could release shit on a plate and IGN will give it a perfect 10! I like roxas as a character but I get what he means, it is a long section of the game that's something completely different, I had that feeling, "when do I get to play as sora?" the kingdom hearts series has also been really inconsistent. Done a lot of different random things, it puts games on the DS, on the PSP, on phone, and now it's trying to bring back pokemon go for kingdom hearts. Square themselves doesn't take the games very seriously, they have always looked at it as a way to make money. To use the IP's of Disney to gain as large of a fan base as possible. because their final fantasy characters aren't as broadly popular. They have to keep going back to the same ones like cloud, because they don't have a monopoly on the fantasy RPG, so when they launch a new series entry like ff 16 people don't really care. There's other games like final fantasy like the mihoyo games, tales of games, that have competed and make it more difficult for square to have value. Square was the original, like coca cola they got to prominence first so they have stayed around, but I think their future prospects are bleak. I think it's going to be hard for them to continue to operate this way. They make difficult to make content, and they under sell it. They don't get a lot for it. Putting out high quality individual releases doesn't really bring enough in anymore. That's no longer an optimal strategy. It's hard to make something that's that much better than everything else, that the quality effort was worth it and it makes a return. ff7 rebirth probably hasn't been that profitable. Inspite of getting positive reception. The fan base has dwindled there's so many other things out there. People aren't enjoying sitting down and gaming as much anymore. It's begun to feel like work to play a game. Some people will sit it out. Just want someone play the game. Watch some of the cutscenes online. The gaming industry is probably in a bubble that could burst. We could see companies begin to out of business or massively downsize. Fire a lot of people.

Ya know I'd defend the 6 score for the DLC in Kingdom Hearts 3... cause as much as it certainly made the ending of Kingdom Hearts 3 more what I was expecting... the Data fights is a generic addition content that is in Kingdom Hearts 2.8. Its new content is behind alot of rehashed content in that regard which is a bit crap... seeing as there is no new world to go to just alittle more exploration to one of the few worlds players actually cared about. So aye a score of 6 is pretty accurate its just above par for DLC content.

I mean, I played all the kingdom hearts games on critical without ever tweaking anything and I still beat all the data bosses on critical level 99 and got my ass beat but still managed to get to Yozora after 1 month lol took me a month to beat them all. I still haven't beaten Yozora but I am savering him until I get my release date for KH4.

Kind of sad he found it "too hard" and I'll give the guy a small amount of leeway on reveiwing the dlc without finishing it, cause if it is too hard for him, as it is for some reveiwers and some games, it's still good for them to reveiw what they were able to experience. But it should definitely be played out better than how he did it.
