@king kingin I made this whole "essay" about it that I post on a bunch of videos so I'll just let you hear it because it says everything that's wrong with him and how he can be improved Respawn needs to start giving the new legends some love. They are too afraid to make them "overpowered" so they make them underpowered, and the meta doesn't even change. You have characters that have been in the game from the start like Pathfinder and Wraith yet their abilities are far more powerful than ANY of the new legends that are supposed to change the meta. Revenant has been especially disappointing. I have lots of ideas of how he could be changed, so here they are. I don't care if the changes made to him aren't these exactly, we just need him to be fixed. • The Passive I was beyond hyped for Revenant but his abilities don't even nearly stack up to any of the base legends. His climbing is no where near as high as they hyped it up to be and he can not keep up with a legend like pathfinder who can scale a building instantly with his grapple. His climbing needs to be infinite. This is not at all overpowered because it still barely keeps up with a pathfinder grapple and it is in a straight line so you can easily be shot. If not infinite, it definitely needs to be faster because you are a sitting duck. His crouch walking is definitely great, but I recommend that it should be just a smidge faster. • The Tactical His tactical also does not have a big enough area of effect so it almost never gets used. It needs to do more damage as well so that can scare people into not wanting to go near it. • The Ultimate I'm sorry, but his totem is completely USELESS. You run into a fight with 100 health and instantly get smacked down and then you have to waste an entire med kit and so much time. In the time it takes you to heal, the other team has already healed as well and the fight is just reset. When it was first revealed in the cinematic trailer, I thought the death totem would make you a shadow from the Halloween event. I think that would be so much more fun then just using your weapons. You would go in and get a hit or two, and then respawn and be able to push in with your weapons. This is probably unrealistic, so a more reasonable buff to the totem would be to go in with your shields included with your health. This way it actually feels like you have protection from the totem. You should also respawn with at LEAST 50 health so that you are not disabled from having to heal. If the shields were added when you became a shadow then you should respawn with at least 75% of your shields so you can get back to the fight and not leave time for the enemy to heal. The range of the totem should also be unlimited. There is already a timer for how long it lasts, so the small range on top of that is just overkill. • The Hitbox I am not an expert about this, but the youtuber, TheGamingMerchant, recently made a video about Revenant's hitbox. He apparently has the biggest chest area out of all the legends. His legs are the only thing skinny about him. With how big his hitbox currently is, he should have fortified and not low profile. His hitbox really needs some tweaking because from what this video revealed, it is truly broken. All of these changes would easily make Revenant a meta legend. We need more legends that have pick rates similar to Wraith and Pathfinder. I don't want to keep seeing Wraiths, I want to see a new legend take the spot of "top legend". New legends should be S-tier quality, not have the lowest pick rates. Please take my criticism into consideration. I love Revenant and his backstory, but his abilities need some heavy reworks. We're already almost 2 months into season 4 and nothing is seeming to be done about any of this. Thank you for reading and have a nice day.

In-universe, Simulacrum are made by digitizing/copying a dead persons brain into a mechanical body. (I think). I presume that normal Simulacrum only have their minds copied into the one new body, with the original meat bag being lost/buried/whatever. With Rev, it looks like they are keeping his human head alive to puppet the metal body, so when a robotic body “dies”, they wipe the memories and copy paste the mind into the next body. Or something else, idk, I’m thinking of the whole thing like how Father remade Greed in FMAB, by sticking him in Lings body but with no memories of the “previous” Greed.

Revenant's death totem was developed from ancient alien technology like the phasing tech. We do not know the origin or development yet, but the totem uses teleportation like other ARK tech and the whole shadowform is likely a side-effect of these experiments to teleport soldiers back to the totem before they are killed in battle. This technology then was incorporated into Revenants mechanical body.

the issue about this video now that i watch it in May is this video didnt actually talk about Simulacrum which is what Revenant actually is: inbetween a Cyborg and an android/AI, Simulacrum is former human being having their consciousness preserved and upload into a robotic body, and all of them are programmed to believe they are still human just to preserve their sanity. Hence the s5 trailer which Loba found Revenant's original head (apparently spine and nerve system attached).

I always figured that since revenant's programming can simulate a fake apartment it can do other things like that. The programming can also make him think that he's dodging bullets or just has really good body armor. Him stabbing someone through the chest with his arm can be stabbing with a knife, him climbing up walls could be seen as using climbing gear like grapples and stuff. Basically anything the body did that was inhuman was changed to be more normal in his mind.

I’m commenting this before watching to see if my perspective changes: Revenant is the least developed character when it comes to story and abilities. Everybody’s abilities feel rooted in the realm of technological possibility, even wraith’s portal has some scientific reasoning behind it. But revenants don’t make any sense to me what so ever. He summons a demon totem thing out of the ground? His silence ability is this black hole looking thing? How does it disable abilities? And how do they relate to his character at all? He’s a deadly assassin, silence should deafen enemies so they don’t know where your team will strike from. The death totem is cool but I wish it felt less like a robot has magic powers. After watching: Nothing was explained that I wanted. Still pissed

If you’ve ever played the Titanfall series, you’d know that there is/was an alien civilization out there that had technology humans had never seen (see The Ark from Titanfall 2). It’s been alluded to that Revenant’s abilities have something to do with this.

While I mostly agree with the backstory you talking about TGM, the one thing I think is wrong is about Revenant having no control over his killing because of his programming. Revenant already enjoyed killing and murdering people long before, and it’s clear in his last loading screen that his true aim is to destroy Hammond Robotics - along with everyone in it. Given that Revenant enjoys people dying, he’s probably just in the Apex Games for the lulz, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike at Hammond Robotics when the opportunity arises. Point being, he’s not really a slave to his programming, because his programming already broke down. The Syndicate’s PR manager even mentioned they have no way to get Revenant forcibly under their control again, so they just gave Revenant tasty bait to entertain himself with until they can find a way to destroy Revenant for good, whereas Revenant gets to goof off and do what he loves without anyone trying to stop him.... at least until he’s bored of the Apex Games.

2:42 there are more than 2 simulacrums in tf2 First is Ash (left picture), she was destroyed during the battle on Typhoon (tf2 campaign) by the main character Jack Cooper. Then she was brought back by vinson dynamics, but she was programmed in a way, that she worked for them (i mean for VD). The second picture is a simulacrum pilot. More specifically a phase shift pilot. There were many pilots like this during the campaign and even in the multiplayer. So I assume this is one of the basic chassis for pilot simulacrums. The other one is the stim pilot. It has different ability, but still a simulacrum and it's also popular in the multiplayer. I think the chassis works the same way as cars. You can buy one from the existing types (stim and phase), for a specific price. If you want a personalized chassis, then you have to pay more. Knowing that revenant and ash were bounty hunters they can afford such an expense. Or more likely they don't have to pay for it. If before the regeneration they sign a contract with one big company (like hammond, VD, or others) the company will make your simulacrum from their buget, but you gonna work for them, to pay it back. But correct me if I'm wrong.

correction. Apex legends and titanfall occur in parallel universes. so yes the standard pilot chasis may exist in Apex. it wouldn't technically be the TF2 one. also its possible our wraith comes from the TF2 universe and Voidwalker wraith comes from the Apex legends universe. watch the flying teacups video on the voidwalker event
