Why Are People STILL Playing Horizon!?

Honestly there really isnt anything to be done with her. She has a tactical that gives the ability to reposition her entire team in the mist of a battle without throwing herself in danger. Even if they were to nerf its speed or height, its the fact being you can go from point a to point b in secounds, and get another later in the battle to do just the same thing.

The problem isn’t the strafe in lift, it’s her passive that let’s her strafe fast to begin with. So they’d have to nerf her passive which would just make the character feel clunkier all together imo

The fundamentals of her kit are broken to begin with unless they really nerf her to the ground people will “gravitate” towards her. Personal airborne and ground mobility passive, team mobility on cooldown, crowd control ult with synergy with so many abilities and grenades. She does too much and does it better in most categories than characters that specialise in that area

What’s funny is that it was always her passive that people really don’t like in 1v1s and never her tactical. Sure she could laser off tact easily but if you really focused, you could track her on it before she got you. Nobody wants to admit how players learned how to track her on lift but still cried for it to be nerfed. She really wasn’t that bad on the lifts but the weakest are always the loudest so oh well.

On one hand I don’t think the nerfs were enough to vastly change her play style but on the other hand I think it’s because there’s not a lot of legends that drastically changes how you play and how the gameplay feels. A lot of characters don’t even have the 3 abilities promised so some characters are just kinda less fun than other ones.

I always struggled to pop a battery in her lift I always get to the top and try to fall down and enter it again before it’s popped but now I can pop a battery before I reach the top I like her better (I don’t play her much though)

She still has too much versatility offensively, defensively, and mobility wise. Plus her built in dead silence perk. She will continue to be meta until they rework her ult and fix her audio. Sure, she can't stay on her lift anymore, woopty doo. Solo she can easily secure a 3v1, and with a coordinated squad she's even worse because she can guarantee a 3v2 or a 3v1 for her squad. She can block doors, remove cover, move her entire team to height, control a team's position, scatter a team(s) or destroy them where they stand. She has no audio, but her kit is designed to destroy everybody else's too. And she can do movement tech other legends struggle with. She does too much, nobody cares about these nerfs.

As a horizon main i can tell you exactly what would actually nerf her Nerf to her passive Nerf to the duration of her tac (aka how long it stays up) Nerf to the cooldown of her tac If she got any of these it would be very severe depending how hard they go but it would drop her pick rate

Her passive alone is OP in my opinion. Even on console horizon players have ridiculous jump spam strafe speed. I think a balance change to her passive is that her strafe is stronger but horizon has to be in the air for at least 1 second (or however much is needed) before her passive kicks in. This will stop the jump spamming players do with her.

Can't compare console to pc, Horizon movement is literally nothing special on pc, there's far more complex and harder to track movement techs possible here. For console it's probably crazy busted, considering how many movement techs don't exist on that platform. But on pc? Again, nothing special. Definitely not worthy of a nerf at all imo.

Horizon is the only legend I can play when I’m having a bad day and still get 5+ kills it’s so weird. Even if I play my main legends Pathfinder and or Octane if it’s a bad day it’s a bad day averaging 1 or 2 kills per game, but as soon as I pick her it’s kills galore.

The reason why it's because she's the only legend that have team mobility on just tactical. The cooldown should depends on how many times it was used. 15s base cooldown + 10s for every use. So if she wants to move on highground her entire team, the cooldown would be 45s

Oh that’s a simple question, it’s her passive. Nobody has even mentioned or talked about it but her passive is way better than people give her credit for. You get a free air strafe in 1v1s no matter the input which gives her an advantage almost all the time unless she’s fighting a horizon. If you use her on mnk, you probably don’t even need to tap strafe that much. On console, if you use a high enough sens, you can basically 90 degree tap instead of 120 and not many console players are tracking you doing that off a wall bounce let alone tracking the air strafe. Her passive is way better imo than people think.

only 10 nerfs later and shes still one of the best legends in the game it really just reminds me of when the devs said they wanted gun skill to matter more then abilities then give a legend the ability to land on your head with no fall stun and shoot you well abusing aim assist and can get out of fights well ripping a battery for free and cut off entire chokepoints better then most defensive legends can and pull you around walls with her ult nade spam you the list goes on they just gave the most bloated kit ever same with catalyst only way to play the game anymore is with bangalore

I came up with a bit of a rework the other day that I think could fix her. It's weird but doesn't change her core playstyle, so bear with me. The point is to introduce counterplay which is what she critically lacks with her hyperversatile tactical. 1. Her grav lift now lasts 60 seconds. This introduces the ability for others to follow you more easily and even repeatedly reuse the ability while mitigating some of the worst effects of the mentioned limitations below. This is refocusing her tool as being primarily about traversal and less about escaping fights, since the path is easily followed by anyone. 2. Throwing out another grav lift destroys the last one. This is to keep it simple, multiple in play would be convoluted to track. 3. The grav lift device she throws out can be destroyed roughly the same as a Wattson fence node with similar hp. This creates active counterplay to stop people who are mid traversal (by you or the enemy) and also to shut down offensive and defensive uses of the grav lift. This also means that clever placement of her tactical has new strategic depth (throw it behind cover to prevent them from shooting it as you go up). 4. The grav lift lifts people 33% slower. This makes it more a tool for traversal and less of a tool for combat. It can still be used in combat, naturally, but it's far riskier to use midfight. 5. The grab lift has a 2 second delay after being thrown before it activates. It also produces a loud noise while charging up. This is to create counterplay "windows" for other players to spot if you didn't place the device well, and to give them a chance to aim at it and shoot if you use it aggressively or to block a door or hallway or try to escape with it while literally surrounded in a fight. Overall she would still be playable, moving a squad vertically at all is a very powerful tactical to have even if its not some dramatic combat maneuver. As well, it now has even greater reusability to make it feel like more of a repositioning tool for the team by creating a vertical lane for a long period. However, it can not longer effectively block doors, push people out of cover, or be used for vertical aping or dramatic escapes midfight without clear and viable counterplay. The basic test for whether its underpowered or not comes down to whether she'd still be playable. I think she would be, vertical squad repositioning at tactical refresh speed is really powerful even if its slower and destructible. As a result, such a significant tactical rework with an overall 1v1 combat utility downgrade is a good idea because it doesn't make her too weak to be played. She still has a strong ult, great passive, and a slightly less versatile but still powerful tactical in this slight rework of grav lift.

So from what I’m seeing in the comments is that people want horizons passive to be nerfed, understandable… But what i can’t understand is why??? Why do yall want her to be nerfed so badly. Her kit is all about space and gravity, whats one thing about space??? THERES NO SOUND. Now we all know how Apex is with their audio and how bad it is but explain to me why for 11 seasons of horizon being in the game we all decided to start saying “Nerf horizon to the ground” or “Shes not even a good legend”.
