The way I see it, black ops 4 took a big risk with ending the old story line and starting the new one. Chaos storyline wasn’t just stuck to BO4 it’s crazy that this has been part of the whole zombies story if you think about it. It started the new timeline before it ended officially but they were able to pull it off years late. That’s why treyarch is the best devs they’ve been writing this story for years

I was put off by BO4 zombies at the time and refused to play. Came back to Zombies in BO6 and have been catching up with B04/Vanguard & CW. If they can link the stories well together, I will be pleased and will feel silly for skipping bo4, but I'm loving b06 so far. Terminus was great.

I always kinda assumed the prime universe was a mashup of all universes based on how Blops and MW universes merged, so it possible that these were seperate but still part of the same cosmic multiverse and when it got crunched down to one universe the stories inter weaved.

what if richtofen remembered everything from all of the old timelines, that or the trama from losing his family triggered it as a fail safe if everything else failed, i do like your theory that the dark aether is set in the chaos universe it makes sense and the story can really go crazy places

At the end of Tag der Toten the Chaos story also got sent to the dark aether along with every other COD game before Black Ops 4

I don’t think so. So it’s weird since Chaos originally wasn’t supposed to connect w/ the Aether story in any way. But most likely what they are saying is that the Chaos Story was always the universe that was created after Tag der toten. And that all the Mythological aspects are elements from the Dark Aether.

Serious question here how can the sentinel artifacts contain gods and be a “human” founding when Medusa is literally guarding a trial and is evil ??? How can Sam and Richthofen be in control of zombies without starting a trial with a sentinel artifact ??? How does monte and the shadow man play a role in this ??? Is the sentinel artifacts contain gods just a conduit into the dark ether that just opens a portal for the undead to come out ??? If so what is the black smoke then and how does it just spawn the undead if there is no portal to the dark either ???? How does the Dark either play a role in this ?? What is prima materia???? Why is there no mention of element 115 is it this universes version of prima materia if so isn’t prima materia from the artifact and if so how can that be linked to the dark either ??? How can a A.I S.A.M control the zombies without an artifact ???? Isn’t the Dark ether supposed to be a warped reality and its own space within the universe??? How can 2 Dark Ethers exist ??

This is just retelling. None of what we saw and happened in BO4 is canon on the Dark Aether story.

Better theory to be really frank: Tag Der Toten essentially unified the COD timeline and universes into one (making Zombies and Campaign standing in one timeline, Modern Warfare and Black Ops (for now))-and the Chaos Timeline is just now folded, retconned, and brought into the Dark Aether Storyline. AKA the Chaos we knew, aint the Chaos we gonna get.

Even though there's this confusion about the events of Tag der Toten folding everything in a single timeline, due to Black Ops (including Vanguard but for now excluding 3 and 4) and the MW reboot timeline being the same, and the new Zombies timeline being set in a alternativa version of the campaign one) I don't think they'll be in this new timeline; Extinction was it's own thing, and Oz and the entirety of Exo Zombies was a biological weapon deal, not something linked to the Aether/Dark Aether; As for Willard, IW's Zombies was more of a take on 80's movies, and the maps being actually movies he trapped the characters in using more conventional demonic influence (literally a deal with Mephistophilis); We kinda had a easter egg of one of his movies' poster being in CW, but I doubt they'll insert him as an actual character considering IW Zombies was more zaney and jokey (literally having famous actors on the plot like David Hasselhoff and Elvira)

He wasn’t the only person working on chaos Kevin drew was the lead director for ancient evil and craig Houston was obviously around aswell and ancient evil is the best chaos map imo. I’m happy Kevin had had the time to make in depth maps unlike he did in Cold War I hope citadel is good 👍
