If you want insane graphics and insane frame rate, get the Series X. Series S does everything the Series X does, it just doesn't have a disc drive and it's capped at 60 frames, 1440p (but on a 4K TV still looks great). I got the Series S because I just want my games to run smoothly, load quickly, and I don't want a disc drive. I don't need the crazy power and insane visuals, as long as my games don't freeze. My main game is Fallout 76, and oh my GOD what a quality of life upgrade it was going from One S to Series S. Night and day, very happy with my purchase

On thing I've realized, the xbox ss comes with clearly not enough storage for many games, however to expand your storage with your own carriage it'd usually between 60-90 bucks, pushing it to the 400$ showing, for just a bit more you could get the sx

The Xbox Series S is enough for me because you can get it cheaper used off of Facebook marketplace. $200 or less is the standard used price off of Facebook right now. It's also cheaper than the Oculus Quest 2. Don't get me wrong. I love VR, but I also love console gaming. I have a whole downstairs movie theater setup for the console, and if I want to move the console upstairs, all I have to do is unplug, and it's light weight. Honestly, the only games I would play on it are Minecraft and Assassin's Creed.

Uhh, i honestly don't think that most regular people are even gunna notice any difference in the graphics tho. Like, the vast majority of people are gunna plug it in to an HDMI slot on a TV, MAYBE make a couple slight changes in brightness but thats about it. They're not gunna notice any significant difference. Unless you are some kind of more experienced "techy", its not gunna be noticed much. Even for people who are "techys" the difference in resolution is hardly noticed unless you REALLY focus and worry about it.

The Series X. I had the S for 2 years. I bought it in April, 2021. Today I bought the X. And when I tell you there is an astronomical difference, I’m not lying. If you see no difference, get a better TV/monitor. Both consoles have used my same 1080p, 120hz monitor. The Series S looks horrible in comparison to the Series X. I’ve hooked them up to my 4K UHD, HDR, 60Hz TV. And genuinely surprised. Buy the X. Better performance (S=4 teraflops | X=12), disk drive, true 4K, and unbelievable quality. The raytracing is beautiful!

I bought the Series S last year because the X wasn't available. I paid $239 for the Series S when Microsoft had it on sale and for that amount of money, it's a steal. The way to may the Series S super sweet is Game Pass. $15 a month allows you to play a ton of games, including 1st party and Bethesda games released day one. No need to pay $60-$70 per game. You also get to play the classic games like Halo and Gear of War series. With Microsoft and Activision partnership, hopefully XBox will get Call of Duty games with Game Pass and new titles day one. What makes Game Pass even sweeter is the ability to play games cloud streaming. It may not compare in quality as local gaming, but you can play them on your phone, iPad or even a fairly old laptop or office computer. I would like to add that you can use the Series S as a cheap computer. Connect a mouse and keyboard and you can use the browser as a regular one that computers have. I know for one that it works well for Office 365. You can type documents and do spreadsheets on an XBox. Buy a computer monitor from a yard sale for $20. Keyboard and mouse from Amazon for $20. Connect them to your XBox and you have a great gaming and "computer" system for very little money.

I have both and j love them both equally. The Series S is definitely is a sleeper. In optimized games i don't see much of a difference. Although not optimized, Red Dead 2 is the biggest difference i see.

People always praise the series s for being portable meanwhile Wii, Wii U and Switch being the most portable home consoles ever. (Switch literally being a hybrid)

I would go for the s but I wanna play old 360 games like cod 123 and iwamm be able to watch movies on CD

My brother and I were going to get an X, but the whole "The S only runs 1440p and the X runs 4k" thing would be a bit pointless since we play on our couch at maybe 8-10 feet away, plus the TV in our living room isn't a 4k TV

They both good you cannot tell the difference with graphics unless you got some type of supervision 🤣😂

its great that Microsoft made a more affordable budget alternative to the series x and most people doesn't have 4k TV.
