I REALLY like Star Allies. Yeah the main game is kinda weak because of how easy it is even by Kirby main game standards, but it’s post game is the best in the series hands down with Guest Star being neck and neck with Meta Knightmare Returns for my favorite Speedrun mode with all the options and Dream Friends (beyond Bandee, Dedede, and Meta Knight) getting unique rooms based off level design from their game of origin and even a unique remix or medley for Morpho at the end, Heroes in Another Dimension being my second favorite post game mode period only behind Forgo Dreams in Forgotten Land, and Ultimate Choice being my favorite arena mode due to how rough it can get and the team building element with all the partners and Dream Friends at your disposal. Plus, this game is such a fantastic celebration. Sure Kirby’s always loved celebrating itself with Robobot in particular also having a lot of references and details, but the amount of stuff in Star Allies is INSANE! All the Dream Friends having so many references to their source game that extends to their section in HiAD and their Guest Star route, all the celebration pictures, and honestly the soundtrack fits in here too. There are so MANY songs that are brought back and remixed for this game (including History of Dedede from Kirby Fighters Deluxe so that songs not trapped in 3DS eShop jail thank god) making the ost feel like a “Best of” for the series. And to wrap this all up, I want to cover one celebration picture in particular. While there are a BUNCH of great ones like the Mage Sisters hanging out on a beach and all the final bosses surrounding Popstar, the final one is the one that will always stand out to me. A picture of Kirby with a bag on a stick waving the player goodbye as he goes off to find new adventures with a music box rendition of Star Allies’ main theme. This really felt like a send off to this style of Kirby and it does that with flying colors. It takes a look back at everything up to this point and opened the door for Kirby’s first full 3D adventure and I will forever love Star Allies for that.

That poster and music box tune always got me in TEARS listening to it. It really was like en end to 2D Kirby and an opening to 3D

In my headcanon of the Lore behind Void, they were the leader of Kirby and Meta Knight's species. But Zero a half Demon beast sought power over the universe and wanted to control and take over the universe by using the Master Crown. But as we know via Magolor, that plan ultimately backfired, causing Zero to mutate into an ACTUAL Demon beast and lose all traces of his sanity, a consequence to strong over exposure to the Master Crown’s Dark magic. Becoming what we see him today... making him a sort of anti-tragic villain

Great review!! Personally I’d give it a bit higher ranking. Mostly because, as was the mission statement from the start, this game does so so much to pay homage to the highlights of series that came before. Rearranging classic character & boss themes, improving upon Super Star’s co-op mode, all the HAL rooms and secret doors that reference the first few games? It just screams as a love letter to the series and did a great job celebrating it :)

I love the music in the game. Mostly because of all the themes that were made for when you fight morpho knight with the dream friends

Good review my friend. I personally think Star Allies is the best Kirby game I’ve ever played. I really enjoyed playing as Meta Knight, King Dedede, Magolor, Susie, the Three mage sisters, etc. I also really enjoyed the lore of this game to. The mechanic of combining your abilities and using friend powers was both cute and awesome. Even the boss fights were fun. 10/10 for me.

@@GameControllerNetwork Yeah, it’s pretty close. Planet Robobot is definitely in my top 3 best Kirby games, right next to Star Allies and Forgotten Land.

For a bad game, you got to admit. Star allies not only gave us the first part of the origins to the entire series, Served as a TRUE final conclusion to the Dark Matter trilogy, the Dark Matter species' origins, but even reveal that Kirby is the reincarnation of GOLB and was a positive incarnation of Dark Matter this whole time. If this shitty but pretty lore heavy game got remade for the 40th anniversary in early 2033, it's no doubt that the Mage Sisters would be given more context to their origins, and give closure to their rather unknown tragic tale.

Shadow Kirby was gonna be a dream friend but he was scrapped since they decided on a dumb rule of “only one dream friend per game” which was so dumb….prince fluff was also cut as well…..

Yeah, pretty crappy lore though. It tries to do so much and piece some things together, but falls flat and is rather half-baked, but everyone ate it up anyways. Its literally the worst Kirby game ever.

Nah, it’s not even close to being one of the worst. There are definitely worse Kirby games. Like Amazing Mirror, Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, Super Kirby Deluxe, Squeak Squad, etc.
