"Antideluvian's name has been lost in time, he was of some long lost clan..." - Typical bloodwitch propaganda (Excellent presention of it). Tremere diablerized Saulot, who could be described as the closest thing that kindred had to a saint. After that vile deed, they started to purge of Salubri (of whom most didn't even retaliate), the only clan that could be described as "the good guys". Now, Salubri healers are nearly all gone (or in hiding) while once just and righteous warriors, "The Scourge of the Baali" are twisted shadows of themselves and serve in Sabbat (And the mystery of Mahtiel's whereabouts is still not solved). Yet, Tremere rest their laurels on the very top of Camarilla...Ah, the irony. (By the way, excellent videos man, I love watching them.If you have time in the future I hope you would do the video on "Furies" and Adonai, the Salubri of Sabbath)

the funniest thing is that Tremere couldn't handle diablerazing an Antideluvian and fell to torpor soon after he ate Saulot cause he was slowly taking over from the inside and in the end Saulot wins.

Shortly after Saulots diablerie, Tremere fell unconscious and would soon be rapped in a cocoon-like substance. Tremere would then spend hundreds of years fighting for his soul against an antideluvian only to lose the battle in modern nights. I love Tremere's fate. Obsessed with power, only to be literally consumed by it.

Tremere FTW.. xD I really like their unity and the fact that every other clan fears and hates them.. :D I really enjoyed how the gargoyle and the Tzimisce boss Andrei hated me because I am a Tremere when I faced them.. Methuselah? 1000 to 2000 years old, If a 4th or 5th gen Vampire were to embrace a Childer, It could well spell out their doom, Most Kindred that Old Are Paranoid that some Young Whelp, Some Fledgling would steal their Hard Earned Generation, whether Natural or through Diablerie, Eating another Kindred's Soul, is a Way to get stronger, To Be 4th or 5th Gen is to be a superior Manipulator, Not Just to be Powerful. Actually, i may have to discern here that some rumors say Saulot, that shady bastard´s plan was to be eaten by Tremere to yet earn control over another bloodline, and who we may see nowdays as Tremere its no other but Saulot itself. @clackclickbang True, I suppose there is less backstory and background in Requiem. I personally would like to hear you opinion on the themes present in each clan and how you interpret them, especially as a lot of the Masquerade clans got re-writen as bloodlines in Requiem. I'd very much enjoy hearing your opinion on these re-envisionings of the old clans. (I for example have played both a Brujah and a Lasombra in Requiem).

Odd that their nomenclature is "warlocks" which I never liked the name of, since it means "oath-breaker"... This is puzzling to me, since most of their unified power comes FROM the "blood OATH". rofl... Kinda like one of those "thought puzzles" isn't it? these magi having the title "Oath breakers", while gaining power through the oaths they have.

I want to share something though - Tremere are likely to be the lowest gen vampires maybe except the giovanni. Clan first + they embrace from a cauldron of blood so its likely filled with the strongest avalaiable blood the clan has which may be lets say 5th gen blood therefore neonates could be 6th gen vampires. Afer all gen = power and clan is first so are neonates...

I love the Tremere. They wanted immortality and stole it from one of the most powerful clans the Tzimisce. And despite being relatively young, and despite the amount of enemies they created and distrust they gain they still rose to the top of vampire society as one of the strongest clans.

My character (haven't played for some time though, started at VTM Dark Ages) doesn't care about what's fair or honorable, there's plenty of honorable people, the graveyards are full of them, he doesn't care about the means, only the results... well some clans are niot existent in the final nights, some not in the medieval times. Besides that, the Clans didnt change much in that timeframe. The only clan who really changed were the brujah after the fall of carthage. There are not much differences between dark ages and final nights - just the toolsm used differ in my oppinion

And Tremere continued embracing while the councilors became lower gens - and the cauldron wouldnt be filled with weak blood as it would weaken the clan. But in the end since thaumaturgy lets you lower your gen to whatever you like...its not really important ^^

@ArphenMaethor Very good point, although not every Tremere diablerised someone powerful. Many of the elders got that way through diablerie (bearing in mind that Tremere was around 9th or 10th gen when he first became a vampire) and some Tremere were embraced prior to the extinction of the Salubri, meaning there's a nice spectrum of generations.

+KaiserAfini I get much more of a "Witcher"-vibe from this lore (that I've just begun to study) because of the darker nature of it, and the mention of mutations and bloodlines and such. And since I absolutely love The Witcher's lore, this is definitely getting more and more interesting by every video/text I watch/read. And I agree, this lore is a massive treasure-trove, completely ignored by the gaming industry.

Love your videos, I rarely comment, but after halfway trough my... fourth or fifth play-trough?.. Of Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines, and in between, growing constantly more and more interested in the "World Of Darkness" universe, getting scraps of information here and there whenever I need to feed my curiosity with trivialities for entertainement or whenever I grow weary of the short unsatisfying taste of video games compared to tabletop games (with a sadly short lasting real life D20 experience in the past), I have to say, your research (some I can vouch for, most I know little to none of it) seems pretty thorough, interestingly put and satisfies some of this unsatisfaction I feel towards either the lack of people available to play where I am or the lack of developers in the video game industry looking into it. Aside from the Legacy Of Kain franchise, the Anne Rice novels and so on, the World Of Darkness is a great universe, story wise and ingame, tabletop or video game wise. Your videos are excellent, good sir. A ROUND OF BLUE BLOOD (or whiskey, whatever) ALL AROUND, MY TREAT! A TOAST! To your knowledge, passion and desire to share these with us. CHEERS MATE!

What I find suspicious about the tremere is how the clan (or at least the main body of the clan) never made any advances towards to Sabbat. They are THE clan of usurpers after all, surely they'd fit right in there with the other diablerists and occultists.

Sabbat and Tremere have two opposite mentalities. Where the Tremere value their antidilluvian and value the dominance of elders on childer, the Sabbat fights against antidilluvians and elders. The first name of the Sabbat was the Anarch Revolt.

+Ben Kielar There were rumours that Tremere tasked Goratrix to infiltrate the nascent Sabbat, or it could be that Goratrix resented the former's reliance on other members of the council of seven and decided to defect for that reason. Before their destruction (ironically, by Tremere himself who stole Goratrix's body as his own was taken over by Saulot) the Tremere Antitribu were widely mistrusted (and feared) by the other "traditional" Sabbat clans such as the Lasombra and Tzimsce......if you can read Mexico City by Night I believe that has some more history in.

The Gentleman Gamer How exactly did the Tremere become vampires? I've read it was a ritual and I've read it was a potion, both engineered by Goritrix. And that which ever the case, it was actually a failure; because it was meant to maintain their "livingness" while stealing the immortality of the vampires. Could you clear all of this up for me?

+Houston Davis as "mortal" Magi the House Tremere discovered that their magic was starting to fail, and their magical immortality was in danger of fading. Research (Yes, lead by Goratrix) led to an alternative method of immortality - a ritual which ultimately failed in it's precise aim leaving the participants as Vampires with their True Magic lost. Now, the assaults upon the Tremere were lead by the Tzimisce in retribution for the Tremere's experiments upon both that clan, as well as the Gangrel and Nosferatu. At this point TGG has it correct except that the 3rd generation vampire whom Tremere diablerised was Saulot (founder of the Salubri) and it is believed he _allowed_ himself to be diablerised. In the final nights he eventually took over Tremere's body, and Tremere in turn usurped Goratrix's soul, sealed int into a mirror and destroyed the Sabbat Antitribu Tremere. I've played Tremere extensively since 1992 when V;tM first appeared even to the point of working directly with White Wolf as part of "The Camarilla" which was their Worldwide Fan Club. I stopped playing in 2003 after becoming disillusioned with the political scene within the UK branch but I had a tremendously powerful character by that time and felt that it was dreadfully unbalanced; I really couldn't in good conscience play him. That said, they're a wonderful (if distinctly overpowered) clan I have many fond memories of.
