I have all sorts of memories flood my brain when I play Sonic 2. Not just of the game, but of what was going on in my life. Like, smells, and weather and what not. I remember counting down to Sonic 2uesday. I remember all the times I rented the game. I remember beating it on rental and still wanting it for Christmas that year. Sonic 3 and Knuckles is my fave, but I get why anyone would choose 2

Awesome review my friend! This is my fav game of all time, brings back so many fond memories of the 16bit days. My fav track is Chemical Plant Zone, but the game as a whole had an amazing sound track! Great watching 👍👍👍

So many memories! My dad and I played this a lot. He'd also play with his brother when he visited, including one time when my uncle kept trying to play with a broken thumb. 😂 My friend and I would play the special zones just to drive each other nuts by jumping in front of one another. And, ugh, that drowning music really is traumatic! I'm in my mid-30s and it still makes me anxious when I hear it. And that damn spike pit! One of the best things about Sonic & Knuckles was playing Sonic 2 as Knuckles and being able to climb out of that pit.

Subbed for Sonic 2 supremacy. Was always my favorite and the one that I got the farthest in as a kid on my Genesis. Sonic 1 always finished me off in the Labyrinth boss and Sonic 3 had the Barrel of Doom. I still replay Sonic 2 to completion every so often.

Sonic 2 for the Mega Drive is my favorit game ever. And, is also a great memory from my childhood. My older sister worked part-time in stores during Christmas season to earn some extra cash. On Christmas 1994, she offered me a Mega Drive II with Sonic 2 and 2 controlers. We played so many hours, thanks to the co-op mode. Casino Night is my favorit zone, and I dreamed about a full Sonic game just like that. Be carefull with what you wish for...

Just got the CD soundtrack for this game in the mail today at 12:59p.m. and it's the "Sonic The Hedgehog 1&2 Original Soundtrack" CD and I'm listening to it while watching this! 6:35p.m. 12/3/2024

When i was young i had a master system withe the brown shoes sonic. My cousins had a megadrive, and i saw their father playing sonic 2. Several years later i got a snes, but always liked sonic, used to play megaman x just because it was a platformer with a blue character.

Im very curious as to what you think about Sonic 3 & Knuckles! Its my FAVORITE Sonic game, by far, and probably my most nostalgic game. Its so simple and endlessly replay-able. Id take S3/K specials stages over Sonic 2s any day. You’d have to pay me a lot to try to screw with that again, my god.

the song you said was inspired by Dreams Come True isn't QUITE accurate. The lead singer wrote the Sonic 2 song himself THEN they used it to create their own song. I know a nitpick and I'm not an angry commenter trying to be a b, just trying to inform you :)

I love Sonic 2 but Sonic 3 and Knuckles is a masterpiece when combined as was intended. Probably the best graphics on the system and the levels are very good all the way through. Imo Sonic 2 goes a bit weak about half way through to the end.
