would love to see your take on the Topo MTN Racer 3, I think Topo is getting better and better every year

Learned about the brand from Skimo, and started running the Colorado mountains in the summer for training. The first version Ultra 100s were my first long distance trail shoe. No injuries in them and fast shorter ultra race times in them. This year I thought I should try some other shoes to see if there were better options out there. I got in Salomon, Nike, Adidas, and North Face options (11 styles total) and nothing felt great. Two weeks ago I bought the new Ultra 100s, and did a challenging 30 mile run in rain and hail on rocky, rooty, muddy AND dry trails. These shoes were amazing. Agree they are less playful than the first version but the grip, lockdown, and drainage are better IMO. Just make sure to size up a full size if you buy these. I found it scary to do this when i bought my first pair, but Dynafit is consistant with their small sizing (at least across their Ultra 100 and Alpine shoes).

I had the original dynafits with the different pomoco soles and picked these up today for $62 shipped. I think I will like them :)

Great to hear your review on the version 2 of the Ultra 100. I've gotta totally agree with everything in the review. I jumped back in the first version today and told my wife after only a couple miles that I really like the comfort of them better than the new version. I love the Vibram soles, not that the Pomoca soles in previous version didn't grip well, I think it's knowing that I have deeper lugs and VIBRAM...Only got 50 miles in the new ones so will know more by the end of August.

Great review! Would love to see a review of the new DNA Ultra or Ultra pro shoe and Alpine pro.

I got these today, and my hoka speedboat 6's are sad. I'll be breaking these amazing shoes in this week. It is clunk-er than than the last version and I'd guess its a 7+mm drop but I love the shoe so far.

You need to make a video about dynafit sky dna!!

Is the sizing off like it was with the first version?
@TheGingerRunner Жыл бұрын
Not really, I didn’t really have issues in either

On version one I had to go up a full size. Version two I'm back in my normal size.

Love your reviews but have a suggestion - let us know the weight of the shoe in your size. I don’t see you mention this in your reviews and I think it would be helpful.
@aristodiga82 Жыл бұрын
he did give the weight of the shoe. look at the left bottom corner under the shoe's name at minute 1:13. he does this in every shoe reviews. That being said, I do agree with you. Too little mention on the shoe stats and figures. Although it is written in minute 1:13 the font is too small to read and only there for like 3 seconds. I know it is there but never managed to read it because it is sooo small. The only way to read it is if you watch the video on a laptop and pause the video.

Wich outsole is more grippier, pomoca or vibram? I have and love de V1 and don't know if it's better to get de actual version or look up for another v1.

Pomoca is good (also used by SALEWA for hiking boots). I would compare it to the Brooks Trail Tack Rubber. But Vibram is still the gold standard.
@TheGingerRunner Жыл бұрын
Vibram for the win, but I still liked pomoca - especially compared to some rubber other brands are making in-house

Want to like DynaFit but the Ultra 100 didn’t work for me. Too overbuilt, especially the clunky brick-like upper. So many better options. The DynaFit Feline Up Pro is still in my rotation for short technical speed work. I have a 50-miler in the morning on the Navajo Nation on very technical mountain and canyon terrain. Hoka Tecton X 2 for me. Thanks for your reviews!

An honest question of no importance: Why are the laces of the shoes you review always untied and all... you know... flip-floppish?
@TheGingerRunner Жыл бұрын
Because I use them? Won’t review a shoe until I put at least 50m in em so the laces stay ready to go

I have been pronouncing the name of this shoe all wrong.
