I dig this format- it's dynamic and real-world. I've heeded your advice and opinions for shoes and ultra gear for eleven years and you've never steered me wrong. Side note: do you ever miss LA?

I never tried the Fuel Cell Rebel v1 or v2, but the v3 was the first running shoe I’ve loved in about eight years. I was so relieved to find it! It’s become an all-time favorite: fast, nimble, not too firm or soft, good for daily training, and legitimately lasts 100-200 miles longer than any shoe I’ve ever worn! I just ran my first 5 miles in the v4 and I’m SO disappointed!! It has a higher stack height and the sole is about a centimeter wider under the forefoot than the v3. I felt like I was tripping over my own feet. Most of the extra width is in the sole, but the upper is a little wider, too. My feet are average width-wider at the forefoot and more narrow in the heel. The v3 fit like an absolute glove. The v4 feel overgrown and sloppy like every other shoe out there right now. I’m OVER this era of huge soles on running shoes. I’ll find a shoe that I like, then the company copies other brands by beefing up the sole on the next version-sending me back to the drawing board to find a new brand/model. Somebody please make it stop!!! 😢

I understand that there is no perfect shoes that works just for everyone. Yep, different shoes for different person. For me, Carbon X3 is a perfect shoes in my long run/race day carbon plated category. It just hit the sweet spot for comfort and snappiness I'm looking for. And the fit issue? I must admit, yes, there is. But for me, it has been solved with a pair of thick socks. And voila, a nice lockdown and fit!

Interesting shoe. I find the evolution of shoes and their description interesting. These are described and low slung with a lot of ground feel. That is not how a similar shoe would have been described 10 years ago. I think the softer and loftier midsoles (the Hoka effect) have cause what would be seen as a standard trainer now seem "low slung."

I have 3 pairs of Sjerag even though nobody needs even a second pair (couldnt decide which colour way I liked best) & only one pair of Tomirs. On trail (or off piste altogether) I run in the Tomirs 85% of the time.. the Sjerag is epic but the Tomir is the daily driver, the trail tank, the Beast. They're "nothing special" & incredible simultaneously..

Everything about this is just amazing: landscape, Jenny and Kaytlyn, storytelling, picture (the colors!), editing, music. Came for Haute Route but immersing into the North Cascades instead is perfectly fine with me after all. Thank you for capturing this place and route!

As much as this extraordinary film brings Katlyn and Jenny's adventure to life, I cannot imagine being out there in that vastness surrounded by snow and mountain peaks with just what I have on my back to sustain me. Such incredibly impressive ad inspirational courage, skill, intelligence and soul.

I have the model without TR, and it's EXTREMELY comfortable. They do make a bit of a funny sound, which is just the foam being squashed, but nothing anyone can hear. They are making walking for me so much more bearable as someone with chronic pain.
