the dance is colourful and enchanting. The fans imitate moving bird feather or butterfly’s wings , the bamboos sound like thunder when they hammer them on the floor preceding the sound of chimes from the umbrella imitate blowing wind during typhoon season, the formation of circle fan gives the appearance of blooming flower -- the best singkil.

The performers of the heritage Dances troupes of the different dancers of the 24 contestants using their colourful attires with their different musical instruments in their own country. Winner in this presentation is Philippines represented by Leyte.

Wow amazing... Very skillful. Rotating of fans while feet does with the bamboo pools in graceful movements, if not skill with it you ended up breaking your ankles with those bamboos. This is great.

Hi so proud of you guys. Bibihira na lang ang mga cultural group na tumatagal, esp pag province based. me isang bagay lang ako na hindi masyadong nagustuhan sa sayaw, yung circular formation, i find it not to foreign, usually nakikita ko yun sa mga folk dances ng Korea, India, and usually countries n may lotus flowers, and usually tawag nila dun ay lotus formation, pero other than that, kudos ako sa effort nyo to promote filipino folk dance. :)

Kudos to the Kalipayan Dance Co for garnering 3rd place in what seemed to be a very competitive group of folk dancers! At this point though, I'd like to play devil's advocate: What if the prince was part of this dance? I know there is a male dancer who assumes the role of the prince but for some reason the dance company did not have him. I understand this is a retelling of a popular folk dance in the Philippines; however, if there was a prince role, would the audience appreciate it more? I also believe the judges know this dance calls for a male dancer. I somehow wonder what the company's placement would have been if they had a male dancer assumed the role of the prince.
