I think a lot of people will emphasize with what you're putting down if you try more console-based gaming. There's a whole market there. And why not use a xim? it's widely accepted in the community, and that sort of controversy is publicity. Besides, you're a pc player, not console, so you've always got that card in your pocket to use lightly.
