Salomon Assassin Pro 2025 Snowboard Review - vs. Assassin

I got to ride this board today in a 153 to test it. I rode it with nitro team boa boots and bataleon Astro asym as well as Salomon hologram bindings. 6’ 155lbs 9.5 boot Positives: Very fast base(felt comparable to the jones mountain twin pro but not as fast as the capita bsod) Carves well and has great energy out of the turn Good pop Good edge hold in ice Looks cool Negatives: Very Bucky in slushy snow Not easy to maneuver at slow speeds(torsionally this board is very stiff) More chattery than I expected it to be Personal thoughts: honestly I didn’t like this board. 156 would be my proper size but I think I’d dislike that one even more. It was more chattery than I expected for a board this stiff and i got bucked a few times and felt it in my knees. What surprised me is how stiff this board is torsionally. It made turning it at slow speeds annoying and honestly I felt that the 159 Capita bsod was more nimble than the 153 assassin pro(when going slow). This board is good if you want a lot of pop and power out of a carve. Definitely more of a board for advanced riders in good conditions. For reference I compared this board same runs same bindings same day with the Yes greats 151 Capita Sb resort twin 156 Capita Bsod 159

Hey man ! Out of all of the Salomon lineup what board would you choose for an advanced rider who is used to riding park and wants to get into big mountain line freeride charging? Thanks !

Hard to say based on the limited info I have. Maybe Assassin Pro 2025 if you like a more centered ride. Maybe the Sick Stick or Super 8 if you want to go more directional.

If you had to choose between this and the Cardiff crane?which is better or which do you like better?

Assassin 2025 (don't go earlier models/too cranky/no ABS sidewall) if you aren't riding it in pow and have another board for that. Go Crane if this is your only board as it does much better in pow and is still super fun on groomers.
