If you ever want to buy any of the bikes you see on the channel, don't be afraid to send me an offer 😂😂 I have generally got a few, but they've all been terrible so I've respectfully declined 😂 I am terrible at selling things though.

Selling a bike . . . A rare occurrence. The Dream was passed on to my wife, and then my Dad. The 750 was written off and the money bought the FZ750. I sold the FZ750 to fund the FZR1000, the FZR1000 helped fund the Buell. Here I have sold to replace, Honda with Sachs, with Bajaj, with TVS, with Yamaha Bison, written off for VIAR. The VIAR is still in the family and I have the Keeway. So I "sell" when I fall in love with something new. Seems easy to me. Perhaps it is easier if you only have enough money to keep one bike up and running ? Generally I have been lucky buying new bikes when they are on discount when the dealers are trying to shift stock to make room for new models. My impression generally is that people do change bikes more frequently now. They are toys not transport. Like people changing their Mobile phones. Phone still works why change it ? I get a new phone when I lose or trash the old one, and then I buy one for the same price as the one I am replacing. Not looking for anything newer or "better". The rubbish most people post on KZbin or any social media is not, I hope, to be taken as a true reflection of peoples values, or lifestyles? Rather it is a barometer of amoral and asocial attitudes 🤣😆. Another fun video. Thank you. 👍

Yeah I don't like selling them, I've also never not regretted selling one :D I would be much happier doing something like that, moving bikes on to friends and family, provided I didn't need to sell them etc. I would sell a bike to replace it, which is what we'd be doing with the CB, but it wouldn't be like for like really and that's why I'd find it hard. I love older UJMs. People definitely change bikes more now, especially if you look at "youtubers". I think a lot of people buy the newest shiniest to keep up with currently trending bikes, I get it if it's their job, also yes, definitely bikes are sadly seen as a fun thing in the "western" world more now than useful transport. Yeah my current phone is actually broken and I had to buy a new one, it made me physically ill. :D You'd never know tho!! My videos are me, so I assume, or want to assume, that everyone else does the same, unless they're very obviously playing a character. Thanks :)

Is Toaster wanting a lower, lighter bike then the CB? I'd hate to see it go. I'm keeping mine probably till the end, just turned 60, YUCK! CB is really a UJM, does everything, just why I like it! Also love the sound when you get on it. Change fork oil to Maxima 15wt, add 1.25 in. spacers and raise the tubes in the trees to 1.5 in. and it handles like a sportbike instead of a cruiser. My season just ended here in PA, snowing as I type this.☹️ Next year. BTW idle speed is set to 1k fully warm.😉

Yeah, lower not as much a big deal but when we did the blue ridge and she got tired she found the weight harder to manage, plus on a lot of the inclined parking places etc, whereas the Rebel would be a lot easier for all that. I would also hate to see it go. I have motul fork oil in stock in a few weights, I'll try the 15! I was thinking 20 tbh as currently a bit of compression damping would be lovely. Haha she likes the relaxed feel, if I ever got it to be "mine" I'd probably swap the front end entirely :D Ah that sucks, I'm sorry to hear it. That's what I had done, it's at 1050 - 1100 now fully warm and starts up much happier when cold, when it was struggling to start I did have it too low, about 900ish.

I 100% go with the if it isn't being used it should go... I was thinking about selling the Beta as I wasn't riding it, then I rode it and loved it LOL, but it is why my V7 went, loved that bike... but it wasn't getting ridden so it went. It seems a lot of people don't know you need to do stuff to a bike to keep it going between dealer services, I assume it is because no one has taught them what to do. Modern bikes are a PITA to self service which is mad as they should be getting easier, you know they have gone too far when you have to update the firmware on a bike.... even though I love the tech, I think I prefer the bikes from around 2010-2012 where mechanically they were fantastic, but only a few had ABS, evenless had TC and possibly none had TC (which I love), but were mega reliable fuel injected bikes that you could easily still self service in the most part.... and could still reset a service light yourself too! Drama is not my cup of tea either, don't like it on the KZbin, in the office or down the pub! 😀 Nothing wrong with chopping it in mate... a Rebel is a great bike too and pretty simple to work on and super reliable.

That's kind of where I am with both the Z900RS and the CB, they just don't get used enough, as sad as that makes me. I wish I had more time to ride, but facts are facts. Yeah, I'll use you as my inspiration :D I think so, I think no one has taught them, AND they haven't actively went out and tried to learn. I agree, I wish we had actual firm laws in place to force manufacturer's to make repairing and servicing things MORE accessible, with the tech we have it should just be a thing. Haha I think tech from about 2008-2012 are my favourite really, which is why I have my Vstrom and Z also, older tech :P Reliability really does add to the fun, having a thing break every second day out is just misery. Exactly, just makes life a little harder, and no one needs that. Yep, and I really think she'd have a lot more fun on it.

@@TheGorillaBiker it kinda sucks to be at that point with a bike, even more so with two bikes... but fun coz it means new horses for the stable! I feel very lucky to have had a biker for a father, at the time I found some of the maintenance a bit of a faff, but it taught me a lot and to not be (too) scared to get the spanners out... although I generally don't go as in depth with stuff as you do, I call the dealership for most but that is mainly a warranty thing on newer bikes. I think it is a really sad thing that they are trying to take away home servicing from us, but they really don't think it through when there are countries like the USA where the nearest dealership is a 3-4 day round trip! I think that is what puts me off buying a 2T bike these days... I just want my bikes to work, and well... 2T.... something will break eventually!
@TheGorillaBikerАй бұрын
Yeah for sure, I mean every ending is a new beginning and all that eh :) Not to get too posh :P Yeah, my Dad was never in to bikes but definitely loves old stuff, and that gave me the start I needed :) Ah sometimes I probably go too far to be fair :D It'd be easier to hand a lot of stuff off. I need to make sure i do more big jobs during winter these days :D I honestly don't get it, companies can't be THAT greedy can they? Like, just supply good quality, affordable oem parts and you'll surely make plenty of money. Madness. Hahahaha all you had to do is say 2T, they are amazing but definitely require some extra care :D
@HippoDronesАй бұрын
@@TheGorillaBiker maybe it was their token gesture to help dealerships retain customers for servicing, but all I think it does is put people off buying new bikes with ever tighter emission restrictions, more tech many don't want and they can get perfectly awesome motorcycles from yester-year at Euro4 or lower that they can throw oil in once a year and maybe brake fluid every other and ride happily knowing that they spent half the money and have half the ball-ache of new bikes! Mmmm 2T 😛

As good as the cb750 is. Sadly we can't keep them all. I had the same dilemma with my Moto Guzzi Griso. The reality was that the running costs were exceeding the kilometers that I was riding it (since I bought the GS). As for younger KZbin content creators seeking drama. Sadly, drama gets views. Same as negativity. Owning and riding motorcycles should have virtually zero negativity attached but they find a way.

Yeah, as much as I'd like to be the next Jay Leno I am sadly a run of the mill human who does not own a hanger :D Exactly, plus they start to suffer from rot induced by lack of use which I always feel is a huge shame. I do think 3 bikes is the golden target for me going forward, how I get there I don't know yet haha. It's crazy, and don't get me wrong I would love to be in their position with all the bikes they buy, and it's not jealousy it's utter bafflement. I would give an arm for an S1000RR, if it has issues it has issues, you deal with them. I think a lot of it is that some of them are so young they don't know that literally every machine ever has issues, old or brand new you will encounter maintenance items that need to be taken care of, that's just how it is.

My ethos on bikes is regulated by my wife. I can have two. So if I want something new one has to go. That can be a problem as I have never ridden a bike I didn't like. Hence a very heavy rotation in my Garage 🤣

Haha my wife is very accommodating and she let me hit my comfortable level by myself 😂 I'd definitely like to get down to two road bikes for me, the track bike and her bike absolute maximum at some point. Hey that's not a bad way to be at all! 😂 I'd love to try more even for 6 months 😂
