Hi graham, a fellow flight attendant here. We are required to wear stockings with our uniform. We always have to carry a lot of extras with us because if we have a tear we’re required to change it right away (annoying, I know) we also do have to wear a shoe with at least a 1 inch heel that’s presentable to walk through the airport. Most all flight attendants have heels for the airport and shoes for on the plane. Since we are the main employees representing our companies they train us to always be tip top🤷🏽♀️ it’s a lifestyle

The woman side of H&M is way more expensive than the men’s side, a sweater on the woman side can cost 40 dollars vs 20 in the men section. Being a woman in general is more expensive if you calculate makeup, hair, nails. And sure you don’t have to do that but a lot of it make you seems more professional and presentable. Especially if your a woman of color.
@ceekay92534 жыл бұрын
That's interesting. It is the opposite here in India. You can find women's clothing on the cheap from these fast fashion brands like Zara and H&M, whereas the men's clothing is very expensive in comparison.

@iamawesomeprods4 жыл бұрын
Gabriel galvez it’s not that simple unfortunely. I have actually shopped on the men’s side before but men cuts aren’t made for woman’s body’s. It doesn’t account for boobs or bigger butts. And that goes back to the looks presentable and professional thing you need stuff that is tailored for a woman’s body shape.

@coco marineblu she probably talking about hair. Alot of company dont consider certain hairstyles appropriate. So you would need to go to a stylist to get it done regularly, each time buying all products for installation (e.g extension) and upkeep (wraps, gel, hair care etc). For this industry, you would probably need to go every month to get it reinstalled, neater or redone. You also need to invest in alot of product to keep it neat and have it looking fresh. Hairstyles dont really last long and start to look unkept very quickly, for the standard of this industry.

My sister gave up her orthodontic career to become a flight attendant. She would be treating her patients and listen to their stories of traveling here, there, everywhere, so she became a f/a and would work her patients around her schedule and just decided to do it all the way. Twenty-five years later, she is still loving it. They get paid more than that with the company she works for. They are also required to wear a watch at all times and make-up too.

Just to answer to your question about stockings, if you are flight attendant it is mandatory to wear stocking it's part of the style and image"guidelines" of the airline moreover if you don't wear medical compression stocking(this stuff is so expensive) you end up with all of medical issues in the legs and lower belly. My friend had to go through a medical intervention after flying for 4years because she didnt wear medical stockings
@spants10584 жыл бұрын
I worked for a bank years ago and while stockings (we call them tights or Nylons) weren’t required, they were highly encouraged. Personally, I think they help prevent blisters while wearing heels, and help insulate your legs when it’s cold. As long as you yank them up high enough, they aren’t extremely uncomfortable. Just annoying. And yes, they tear easily!

Spending money on groceries delivered is the best thing she can do for herself. Someone brought it to Court and it made it all the way to Supreme Court because they said in the event of a plane crash, if the plane set fire, or in any other fire emergency, the stockings could MELT to your SKIN! Just imagine the agony >.< Now it is optional and any dress code contract requiring stockings should be taken to court immediately! OUCH! I’m a FA. At my airline, women must wear pantyhose. Also women must wear heals at 10,000 feet and below. And yes, it’s part of the uniform. As far as ordering stuff and food...it sounds trivial but the 20 minutes it takes to drive to the store, I could be catching up on bills. Remember, I was frozen in time in airplane mode for many many hours. When you said about being tired and shopping at midnight....midnight where? We can travel through 6 time zones in 1 day. We could relive the same day more then once. The level of fatigue is real! The concept of time no longer applies. Also, I’m my opinion, woman have it sooo much harder then us men.

Secondly.. The tired that we talk about and the tired that other people talk about is completely different! Sometimes we zone out for hours without even having a sense that we're still alive..
