Well hello everyone. I just finished a bottle of Chianti Classico. What's the last bottle you polished off?

This is so weird. I was just searching yesterday to see if you had a video on Sangiovese and I couldn’t find anything. Twelve hours later you post one! Amazing! Hahaha

This is a varietal ive been working with in home winemaking for several years from a older vineyard, its particularly rough because it can be really hellaciously acidic at times and high sugar its not uncommon to see 25-27 brix. It really is a nice grape though.

Last one- Ruffino Chianti Classico Gran Selezione. 2015. A bit young, but pronounced nose. Chocolate, black cherry, balsamic, olive oil, dusty savory spices, dried deli meats, rosemary, cinnamon, violets and rose petal perfume. Palate clearing acidity, nice hit of malo, minerality, touch of oak bark, medium plus body. Great wine.

Have you explored much Australian Sangiovese? and if you have, can you recommend any? I know that King Valley, VIC produce some of Australia's best Italian varieties.

Thank you very much for this video! I love Sangiovese so much). Could you explain, please, what the term "TART" really means when it comes to describing wine?
@handrinkssolowineclub2 жыл бұрын
I gather it is the nexus between sour and bitter. So a ruby grapefruit would be tart, where a lemon would simply be sour. Hope this helps.

I think wine connoisseurs, sommeliers, and enthusiasts need to invent a better, more science based terminology for describing the wine tastes and smells. All of that “cherry” “currant” “red fruit” are culturally defined and unhelpful terms.
