@rudantha thats what a flyhalf consists of? kicking and running game? include being able to control the flow of the game and not to mention a crucial part of rugby being able to defend not hop step goat jumping all the time and trying to throw mircale passes that can cause mistakes, carter keeps it simple. quade is definantly more exciting but unless he knows how to control the game he will never be at the same level as carter, has potential but needs to learn from his mistakes.

Moving on? Cooper has had major spats with two of the most respected Rugby figures in Christchurch/Canterbury. It's not just about the McCaw incidentS (notice the plural - he has has attempted at least three cheap shots on a grounded McCaw). It's also about the bad mouthing of Robbie Deans. Saturday was the first time Cooper had appeared in Christchurch since all of these events and therefore the first opportunity for the Rugby going public here to tell Cooper where to go.

Johnny Wilkinson is the best English player of all time no doubt, take away 3 points for drop goals (should be one point) and he's still a great player. Quade has got us kiwis keeping an eye on him, at least he can tackle (aye Johnny W). BUT, there has NEVER been a player like Dan Carter. Best at reading the game, great kicker (doesnt look like a pansy aye Mr Q Cooper), great defence, and can attack. There has NEVER been a number 10 like Mr Carter.

Like I said, on Saturday he got shown up for what he is, an ineffective and spineless player. I think he ran with ball just once during the whole match on Saturday, most of the time he threw the ball away as soon as he got it.

Only 500? Less than half of Carters' despite Carter being out with serious injuries. As for Pocock, Jemima O'Connor, Ioane and Beale...remind me as they are all such world class players with all that talent how many RWC medals do they have? None of them have even won a Bledisloe Cup. Firstly, no it is definitely not an NZr playing for the Wallabies thing. Secondly those Crusader players who have spoken out are in part just being diplomatic but also forget that this was Coopers first appearance in Christchurch since 2007. As for the crowd being wrong? Why? I was one of them. We pay our money and we vented our displeasure of this quite unpleasant little (metaphorically speaking) man in a non-violent way. Exciting player? Again your ignorance comes to the fore. Deans has issues at the Wallabies simply because he is working with a group of players whose egos lead them to believe they are somewhat better than they actually are. No names mentioned but it is pretty obvious who they are. Deans only has one world class player in his squad, Will Genia. Even a great coach like Deans cannot make a silk purse out of a sows ear. Blooper's well documented disruptive dressing room influence is a factor as well.

I suggest you read McCaw's autobiography to find out his views on Cooper before claiming otherwise on here. Cooper has a history of violent conduct on the field and disruptive behaviour off it. McCaw is disdainful of Cooper's conduct but refuses to lower himself to that level. Incidentally I have never 'spunked' over McCaw, and nor do I resort to such cheap comments. I back up my argument with facts, Cooper is rubbish - evidence Saturday night.

The most important facet for a first five is decision making, his passing ability is questionable particularly under pressure as stated. All#10s have to have vision and in the modern game that includes putting yourself in the defensive line. Being good in bits isn't enough. As a player Blooper Cooper is average. Has some occasional nice moves but has a tendency to crumble under pressure particularly his habit of throwing wild passes in tight breakdown situations. As far as the average NZ rugby fan's attitude towards him is concerned, the animosity is not based on stupidity as you suggest, more a reaction to Cooper's disgusting conduct in recent years where more than once he has taken a cheap shot at Richie McCaw has been grounded.
