14:00 my dad practiced the craft in his lifetime yet we lived in a very non religious household, I still find myself tripping over words and meaning while I talk with family members about my love for crystals for an instance, trying to prove that “it is less of the magic” for me even tho I use them daily within my craft. it’s interesting how we sometimes do that, we feel awkward about something that makes us excited, and we feel vulnerability when we rumble on about it. I really appreciate that you’ve talked about this. 🌼

I grew up on an orchard- I have spent more private time with trees than with people. I moved from the orchard to the city and to the forest as an adult. Trees are so healing for me to live around. I work much better with a practice (spell or ritual) that I create myself. Cooking is also very magical to me... the herbs used to flavor food, the essential oils (food safe) I use in my dish soap, floor wash, vinegar counter cleaners....

I've always had a love and feel a deep connection to mother earth. As a teenager, I sorta looked into Wicca but always put it as a teenager seeking belonging. As an adult I've mostly classified myself as a follower of CHRIST and it definitely has helped with my sobriety the past 8 yrs. Yet recently this year I just feel like I can't learn enough about herbs, growing them, what medicinal uses they have....and thats when I came upon your channel in late July 2020. Whatever I do choose to practice, I would love to learn more about herbs and their properties. You have a wonderful calming way of teaching and I think many looking for answers in herbiology would learn a lot from you so I encourage you to do it. Im now 45 yrs old (not a teenager anymore) but still searching for a belonging! Can't wait to see what you share with us next!

The first Question, my opinion of course, I would recommend studying as to who and why you are casting a spell as you must realize that you are drawing into the power of mighty forces and if you “do it” just to test these forces, you could harm yourself and or another person therefore reading and knowing the basics primarily would be safe and wise, but I digress 😊 I hope this helps someone beginning on their path, many blessings 💜

4:35 For anyone else struggling with visualization, might I offer another tip?? It kind of builds on what Annie said about externalizing your intentions: Don't be afraid to utilize EXTERNAL visuals to help set and guide your intentions for a spell. Mood/vision boards can be very powerful!!! You can make them IRL (collages made from magazine cut-outs, doodles, poetry or mantras that you've read or written yourself, even found objects) as well as digitally. Pinterest is hugely helpful for creating digital mood boards or vision boards, and it's FREE... aaand you can even carry your "visualized" intentions around with you in your pocket (ie. your cell phone)! These methods of external visualization can be extremely useful for those who struggle to conjure compelling imagery in their mind's eye.

Being disabled, I've been having a hard time with my craft. Before being a green witch, I was trained and taught the druidic way, the folk magick of my people, that no one would call witchcraft. So, I had things "figured out", I suppose, simply because I was taught, and because being a Druid is very different from being a Witch in some ways, and similar in others. But I've felt very alienated by the witchy community, as a disabled person. So many things are hard for me, because they're presented to you in able-bodied ways online. And I've been wondering how people with visual disabilities deal, or if they can even be witches in the way internet and the online community seems to define it. Visualization is hard, when you've never seen anything in your life, just like ceremonial magick is impossible to me because of the limitations of my broken body. Just like you, Annie, I'm not a performer in that sense, I don't do ceremonial magick. I'm a Gallic witch, a druid, and as comfortable as I feel in my practice, I feel very alone because I haven't met anyone else online who practices in similar ways, believes in the same principles, worship the same gods, respect the same spirits and feys. It's strange, right? How such a great community feels so alienating to me, and to other disabled people, if what I've seen online is anything to go by. Thank you for your videos, they help with that feeling, and I feel a bit less alone when I watch them. And if you're also a disabled witch, or a celtic practitioner, a druid, a gallic witch, please reply to this. I would love to talk.

speaking about herbalism. i am thinking of going into green witchcraft (i'm a beginner as of now, so basically still learning everything about everything before settling on a specific practice) and my problem is that all the information i get about witchcraft and herbalism isn't even in my native language (which isn't English), let alone not applicable on the kind of herbs that grow in my country. what i found helpful is to find an encyclopedia-like book (i have no idea what they are called in English but i hope you understand what i'm getting at) on the region you live in since it usually lists all the herbs, trees and mushrooms you can find in you area. then you are free to google all the magickal and/or medicinal properties of the herbs. plus you can grow a lot of them in a pot, even if you don't have a yard. i'm currently a proud mom of indoor lavender and sage

Re: the question about visualization, I just read a bit in "Treading the Mill" that was interesting (and made me laugh) - the author Nigel G. Pearson writes on pg. 130, "Now, there are a lot of people who say that they cannot visualize, cannot see pictures in their head - piffle! Everyone can! If you couldn't visualize making a cup of tea, you would become very thirsty. If you couldn't see yourself clothed, then it might be rather embarrassing for you or the people around you. To be able to do something, we - all of us - have to be able to visualize it first. When people say that they can't do this, they just mean that they do it so often without thought that it's not a conscious thing and they don't realize it. The point is in bringing it on to a conscious level, directing and focusing it into the areas or places that we swish to visit or things we wish to achieve. And this takes practice!" I can't speak to this because it's not an area I struggle with, but it reminded me as a vocal coach of people who claim they are "tone deaf." It's actually extremely uncommon to be truly tone deaf - if you can hear the difference between the happy birthday song and the latest pop hit, for example, congrats! You're objectively not tone deaf. But often for folks who feel they are "tone deaf" it's more that they struggle with being aware of the connection between their vocal muscle movements and the sounds that result. This connection can be improved with practice, even by those who don't come by it naturally at all. I also have a hypothesis that the modern obsession with screens is a major contributing factor to the number of people who struggle with visualizing, but that's another can of worms for another day. :D

meditation really helps with visualization, too. some herbalism-type vids would be great. i'm in NZ & we grow Lavender, Chamomile, Roses, Herbs of all sorts, also, which i'd imagine would be the same in many places. then there are our native plants/trees etc, which yeah, are really important to our areas, & increasingly important to my own practice. our own sands, shells, natural quartz's, tree's, etc, are what makes our practices so deliciously unique to us. i highly recommend to all peeps that if you don't know of your native botany, to learn from an indigenous person/peeps... always such lush mythology & medicinal practices connected to them which is also your inheritance by way of homelands, so really special. & magickal. cool vid

Difficulty visualising: words and the power of speech is very potent and can bu used in place of visualising. Just say out loud, or whisper, or even just think of what effect you wish your spell to take and afterwards say “It is done.” Remember to always cast spells from your heart and with good intent ❤️ 🧙‍♀️ ⚡️
