The Green Witch

Күн бұрын

After all the requests to do a Q&A here I've finally caved! And you know what, I had quite a bit of fun filming this video!
I want to thank you all for your lovely questions and I really enjoyed getting to work with you all on a video in this way!
Questions Answered in this video:
1. How did you get into witchcraft? Is it something you found on your own?
2. Where are you studying herbalism?
3. How much knowledge would you say you had of herbalism before you started school for it? Were you exposed to herbalism as a child or did you gain a base of your knowledge through self study? Fellow Chestnut School student here
4. how long did it take for you to find your current path? (as a baby witch who's still learning the basics, I'd love to know!)
5. Seen as you are on such a public platform how do you handle pagan trolls? The folks who think that their way is the only way?
And my other question is do you have any secrets to your practice that you purposefully keep for yourself because of your tradition?
6.Does Wicca still play an important part in your practice or have you found another path that suits your needs better?
7. How did your friends and family react when they found out you are a witch?
8. Tell us more about your boyfriend, let us see him!
9.Do you have friends who are also witches and how did you find them? If not, what do they think about you being a witch?
10.What do you do for a living and how do you maintain a work-life balance so that your home & magickal practice is preserved and protected?
11. I'm actually curious about how you edit your videos. They're always so lovely and have a certain uniform aesthetic. I know this isn't a witchcraft question but it's something I wonder about each time you put a new video out. :)
12. What are you using for filming, set-up, in the house do you take advantage of the natural light or do you have to use a ring light?
13. How long does it take you to edit a video?
14. I absolutely love your style of clothes and I was curious if you make them yourself, buy them online or just do local shopping for them?
15. What you eat in a day???
16. Do you eat the food you make now?
17. Are you Vegan?
18. This seems like a silly question, but I just adore the ring you wear on your index finger. Where did you get it? I've read that wearing rings on certain fingers can help with certain spells/vibes/intentions you are putting out. Does that ring true for you? (No pun intended haha!) Thank you for sharing your story & continuing journey!
19. What is you're favorite part about skyrim? and did skyrim inspire you to become a green witch? It did me!
-----note here because I forgot to answer the second part of the question! Skyrim, while it wasn't the first thing that inspired me to follow the green witch path, is something that continues to reignite the spark of it for me when I am feeling a little lost from it!
Thank you all so much for your lovely questions and I hope to do this again with you soon!

There are a couple of things that I want to say here. First, I can’t imagine the difficulties and challenges that you face with your illness and I appreciate you sharing with your viewers a glimpse of that part of yourself. Second, I have been a practicing green witch for over almost 35 years, and just want to say, that I love to see the younger generation’s fresh new take on the different ways that they practice. You have created for yourself a gentle and beautiful pathway. Third, I really enjoy your videos; absolutely gorgeous, calming, and I can tell you are putting your heart and soul into these videos. Keep it up girl, you are doing fabulous. Blessed Be. ❤️

Seeing another witch with Ehlers-Danlos talking, even a little bit, about the challenges of shared food and dislocations got me emotional. I so rarely see other people who live this way. I dont struggle withthe same disorder as you but as someone who has struggled with anorexia and now has IBS, I completely relate to the inability to experience food the same way others do. the feeling of sitting at a table and not being able to join in with the festivities is a horrible one. thank you for having your struggle because I'm sure you have helped many people. I also wanted to say that I'm sorry if you've recieved any judgement for not being vegan. I'm fortunate enough that I can be vegan but I know that it really is not a suitable diet for everyone and should not be forced onto others. I'm glad you've found a way to interact and work with food that brings you joy and is healthy for you. I love how calming this video is, you're really inspiring me to live a more "green" life in small ways. Also, thank you for sharing your experience about your condition. I like how you shared that you still try to share in meals with others despite your condition. I've never heard of it before, but I can vaguely relate as I have a condition that makes my bowels reject a lot of food groups that other people can eat. Sometimes it is hard to share meals with others because there are a lot of things that hurt me and are present in many foods. Hearing your experience put that into perspective for me but also gave me ideas on how I can still enjoy meals with others that I may not be able to eat myself. Thank you! Blessed be! Edit: a word

As someone with the goal of being vegan: I've been working towards it from eating like a normal Texan for like six years. It's a different journey for everyone and anything helps. I hate that so many people in my community take the severity of the issue and run with it. It might be a problem but it's unrealistic to expect anyone to be educated, sustainably healthy, or to go cold turkey when there is so much gatekeeping and shaming within the extreme parts of the community. It flushes out all of the ACTUALLY useful and very immediately actionable info when the KZbin feed is all Instagram vegans that eat less than 1400 calories a day and extremists that call meat eaters out instead of being kind. 🥺😔

i used to be vegan but sadly had to go back to eating meat (oddly enough, for health reasons lol). it's not my favorite thing, but it is what it is and i always remember to live in gratitude while eating my meals. i never understood the judgment surrounding people's personal diets. the hostility in some communities surrounding the ways and what we eat is so strange.

More than being vegan or not, it's how you eat your meals, if it's animal based atleast make sure the animals you're consuming were treated correctly and were killed with the least pain possible. Sure you won't know if a pig was treated correctly because a pig is not kosher, however when it's a cow if it says Kosher then you're making sure the animal was treated correctly. If you're eating eggs, atleast make sure you're getting them from a local farmer and not mass produced ones. As you all know, intention matters. If someone wants to be vegan, great job, I respect it. If someone doesn't want to be vegan, I respect it too. You do you.

I have always been curious but raised Baptist and Methodist. I was finding myself in a crisis of ‘faith’ in the mid-‘80s and cried out in my mind “if there really is a God, just give me a sign.” After a while I realized I was getting an answer form the trees around me, “We’ve always been right here.” So, Druid? I quickly resolved to take a serious look into witchcraft, which I have always been interested in. This finally felt like “home.”

This was so interesting! I love just listening to your videos in the background as I do stuff around the house. Definitely do more videos like this! On the topic of making your own clothes... I am going to start making mine and it would be really cool to see you make yours!

Really nicely done video! I think you did a really good job in touching on your food matters, just the right level of depth. Not an easy topic to know how much or how little to say when mentioning it, so congratulations on hitting just the right sweet spot!

I haven’t played a single game other than Skyrim in years honestly 😅😂 and thank you for all of the videos you make, watching you always reminds me to recognize the magick in the things that surround me every day. I live in a city, I have very little access to nature, and I rarely get to see the moon or stars - it often frustrates me because I feel like I am so distant from nature that it hinders my ability to practice and connect with the beautiful energies I share this planet with. But I cannot take for granted the things I do have - my little family of plants and cats in my home, the trees and birds outside my window, access to dried herbs, my kitchen, and my own spirit. Thank you for helping me appreciate the little things around me

I want to call you "Honey". Please know it is not coming from a patronizing place, but from a loving one. SO, Honey, Thank you so much for your beautiful transparency and your lovely offerings on both of your channel's. What you just shared with us was powerful, and you did it without any projection or attachment to the victim archetype. Not a small thing. You are so wise beyond your years. I am a green/hedge/kitchen witch, and an herbalist - both for over 30 years (and in many ways, even since I was a young child). I follow less and less dogma (none, really) as I begin to step into my crone years, but I still love a simple, alive, moment-to-moment practice. It has all become a very creative and present moment way of life. And I love watching your videos! They delight my inner child and inspire me to play. How lovely to connect with so many more sisters. Sending much healing light to your very strong body/mind/spirit. Many blessings, Amara

WoW this is somthing new for me. I am a empath, a child of god. Mother Earth is my energy, as a empath I give others my energy and nature is my energy. It’s cool seeing how others use nature and life.

This was a beautiful video, thank you for sharing your Q and A here on youtube. I am a vegan but everything that you said I completely understand and agree with. You are doing what you need to do in your life, which is perfectly fine. Also, you are incredibly lucky your parents and family supported you when they found out you are a witch. I am a secular Zen Buddhist and when my family found out I was ridiculed, bullied and ignored as if I didn't even exist. It was a difficult thing to go through, but I became stronger and learned a lot through all that. It makes me happy to hear other families are more supportive though.
