@@GungHoSourdough Hay, I will tell you what I do. For a true MEDIC pack I got an empty STOMP bag and filled it myself. For my " blow out kit" I have a hanger pouch on my plate carriers. I put my supplies in a zip lock bag roll it up tight and put it in there. My war belts all have a Quick Deploy 2 pc pull out kit. (Blue Force Gear & Amazon) I also use the rip away kits on hand out buddy gear. If you want to know what I put in my kits let me know and I will give you a list. Hope I didn't put you to sleep and this helps. Be safe.

Some really great points. I think garrison life has really made grenade bearing too much of a secondary, boardering on fantasy though process. Units really need to get better disposable grenade trainers for guys to carry and utilize for field exercises. Otherwise it's 100% just a dip/multitool/POG bait pouch. Really like the idea of runnin a JSTA and greanades on the belt line so you have an answer when higher gives you awkward kit like smokes, or frags. Probably one of the best war belt videos I've seen. One improve though, is to rethink the way you store your TQ. The strap should really be open. I like the looped method, but trying to fumble fuck with a strap while in pain and bleeding is suboptimal imo.

Another great kit organization video. Your USMC culture is apparent: a rifleman does not need a pistol. Been there and wore out the uniforms. When I left the Corps, I became a deputy and later a SWAT operator. In a shooting social situation (SSS), there is a reason for a pistol. I don't know if you went through a situation where your rifle was damaged or inoperable when you needed it but I can tell you that it is not a pleasant situation for you or another Marine to deal with or witness. "THIS IS MY RIFLE AND THIS IS MY GUN"...is more than a ditty phrase. A Marine without a weapon in combat is a preditor waiting for someone to be WIA. Carrying a pistol is a nice feeling when your primary is down or when you are clearing multiple rooms. It also allows you to use one hand better than when you have a long barrel to deal with; like handling a prisoner or dealing with an injured person AND a SSS. In WW2 some units issued 1911s to all unit members. Depending upon your duty assignment, the MC didn’t spend much training time on pistols. I was ordered to a Marine Barracks and worked security, the brig and as a Shore Patrol MP in a couple of cities. We received some great training but went on duty with three mags of five rounds each and nothing in the chamber. We worked many shifts with the local police who carried loaded pistols as it was deemed unsafe for us to carry them loaded. That is an odd concept for Marines when you think about it but their culture is set in dry and formed concrete. Most of us carry different kinds of insurance. That is how I look at a pistol; my carry policy. I prefer to carry both weapons in a SSS but then, after we leave the MC, we don't carry frags any longer. Bad image you know. Semper Fi

I'm not even military and I have a Leatherman Wave with the pocket clip on me at all times for the past 17 years. I use it everyday at the very least half dozen times for one thing or another. I also have a back up one strapped to my shoulderpad of my ruck in the event I lose my main, OR if 2 would be convenient. *Screwdriver or gripping a bolt head with one and the other to hold the nut. If you don't own AND use multitool of some sort, you're a useless Liability and not an Asset.
@eladamar219611 ай бұрын
Great kit, as a fellow infantryman (IDF), I would suggest to secure the multitool with a cord and a small mini carabiner. That way you won't loose it after laying back / running. Re the TQ - I leave the white cover open, secured to the side velcro, that way I don't need to open it prior to applying. Hard to do with gloves & adrenaline.

@@jakmac6499 The biggest concern is probably not having the IFAK easily accessible, which is why a lot of units will standardize having the IFAK on their chest rig. However, understanding your mission helps too. If you know you are only bringing an assault pack, that pack will easily go over a belt so you can keep the IFAK on it. But, if you know you are going to be using your ruck then move the IFAK to your chest rig and put the belt in the ruck. I have figured it is just best to get used to switching things around
