Is jamming a lost art? Do you have any experiences to share about good jams or bad jams? How to jam with another guitarist or any musician is not as simple as just making it up! Sit back and have a listen to my thoughts on jamming -half the time I am pretty much a professional jammer, so hopefully I can share some value with you! Don't forget to subscribe like and share!

@@robmoss7580 hey rob, have you tried learning some pop song progressions and jamming over those?

@@AdrianWhyte Thx Adrian. I’ve looked into it a bit Adrian. Looks like there’s quite a bit of info out there, I see the Justin‘s got a webpage on it that’s not too bad. Interested to know what your personal faves were however. I guess it’s handy to go into a jam session with a few different cord progressions up your sleeve. Course I love jamming along to anything that I hear like the rest of us…

I have been learning guitar for 4 years. We started a band 6 months ago. Jam sessions were fun, learning cheesy crowd pleasing tunes were less fun. I ended up being last man standing. I guy wanting to learn Bass asked me to show him so I started learning Bass with him and really like it. Soon I found knowing some Bass and guitar 🎸 opened up a lot of space in jam sessions. We ended up hanging out with a speed metal player from Seattle so we now had two guitars and a Bass. Having jam sessions really brought together a group of people. We are still looking for a drummer…a 4 on the floor drummer.… Simplicity and space are what I found working best. Metal is fun for that…I’m a better player for Metal so different genres jamming has opened up a lot of doors.

That’s super cool Kerry, I love the eclectic mix of musicians in your band too, must make for some wicked jams! I can see how bass would open doors- I realised today some guided jam videos might work really well by the way - something for the future!

I can’t thank you enough for the kind words Al. It’s so easy to put out content and feel as though it may not be understood or appreciated, or that it is worthy.. but along the way your praises have always been a beacon of encouragement, so thank you once again!

@@AdrianWhyte dang! You’re making me blush !.,. In the other hand, I have been in the guitar world for over 60 years and I rarely ran into others who had such desire to share knowledge and encourage new players to become better than you are and you are a substantial influence in playing style and class. You have knowledge and understanding of many styles of music and playing and can show a theory player how and why as well as an ear player how and why. These are excellent abilities on your part

Even if the KZbin road is rough and the rain and wind blows and everything in this world moves away from me, I will always keep your video in my memory. After watching your video, I really liked it. Even if the KZbin road is rough and the rain and wind blows, and everything in this world moves away from me, I will always keep your video in my memory. Even if the seasons pass and the years pass and the mountains and streams change, I think the KZbin world will never change and will last forever. Whether it was a coincidence or a coincidence based on an unknown mysterious algorithm, I opened my KZbin window and your thumbnail caught my eye. You have the ability to make your videos instantly stunning and attractive. Thank you for making my lonely heart so happy after watching your video. Just as rivers flow into the sea, your KZbin channel will continue to flow like a river, and one day it will become a big sea. You have the ability to make your videos instantly stunning and attractive. Thank you for making my lonely heart so happy after watching your video. Thank you to the algorithm that made it possible to watch good videos, I hope that you will succeed as you have worked hard for your dreams. Your video shines the most on my KZbin window right now. Your video is the best video. In the wide KZbin world like the Milky Way in the night sky, I happened to meet your video as beautiful as a star and enjoyed it as if I was dreaming. I am watching your video in the music studio on a dark summer morning. Even if it's just a passing relationship I've never seen offline and don't know the name of, I'm so happy to meet you with your video in the KZbin world like this. On the waves waving and swaying on the huge ocean called KZbin, my little channel boat is rowing towards its dream today. I am very lucky to have found your video while rowing a small paddle and going endlessly and endlessly.

Good content. Not well covered elsewhere. How’s about Top 5 chord progs. for going into a jam that’s not a 12 bar. Say a Latin, a rock or two a country…?? Worth a thought?

Hi Rob, absolutely food for thought- all ideas are appreciated and it’s great to know what people would like - I might make a second part to this discussing a few common and favourite progressions to jam on, that’s a great idea!!!

In addition to the guitarist that keeps playing when they should be trading off, I'd say don't be the player trying to be impressive and/or "better" than whoever you're playing with. It's supposed to be fun, not competition.
