How to Spray Mazda Soul Red Crystal 46V. I sprayed the turret/roof of this Mazda CX-5 edge to edge using Cromax 6000 solvent basecoat (Australian variant) followed by 2 coats of Tinted Standox Clear using slow hardener, then finished off with one more coat of un-tinted Standox clear. They key to success is to use slow hardener and be patient between coats. Good luck Gunners!!

Getting ready to spray my personal car this color. Been messing around with spray outs, looking for the best ground coat for the color. That's what brought me here. I've sprayed it over plain red gold metallic silver metallic, and silver aluminum. The aluminum is best in my opinion. Although you should have really good coverage as to not see your sealer or ground coat. It will usually have an effect especially when shooting such transparent colors. This is a fun color. I do a lot of custom colors, just going to the bank and creating. And then taking mixes I didn't like and mixing them with other mixes, or adding flake or pearl or color shifting toners. This is one of those colors you really can't make better. It's already the best factory color out there. Only thing I'd recommend is use transparency enhancer instead of clear. So you can really get that deep look. Our on 3 heavy coats of the midcoat. Then two clear coats. That's five coats to the base coat. It's beautiful.

I can't tell if I'm pissed or not. I have painted half my car in firenze red and I think I like that more. But then I did the wheels silver with a gold candy tinted clear over the top. They are like a mini lite wheel and the tinter gathered at the edges leaving almost bronze sausages at the edges. Great video for information cheers Gunny

I have the cx9 signature in this color would red metallic and it is spectacular and the comments I get on it because I wash the car weekly. But I must say from the dealer the color is quite easy to scratch don’t you think? I was told by the dealer it is a 3 stage process 2 base and one clear.

Painting a 2003 Mercedes e550 estate, color change (hood/door/hatch jams)from white to light metallic blue, using sealer coat over 600 sanded good paint, using Rock Paint urethane 2K and Rock HS clear. Shooting sealer with DeVilbiss FLG 1.8 for primer, shooting base with Devilbiss GTI Millennium with 1.3 and clear coat with Devilbiss GTI ProLite 1.3. in a side draft booth. I estimate ordering 5 liter sealer, 6 liter color and 7 liter clear.... haven't decided if I want to cut and polish or flow coat, Its been decades since I painted a car and your videos are saving my life. Any thoughts or advice?....... Okinawa Japan

I will be using this colour to paint a motorcycle metal tank, guards, fibreglass fairing and plastic side covers. These components will be air dried. Would a medium hardener and thinners be better or would solvent boil still be a problem given a day temperature around 25 degrees, at the moment. Would a metal etch primer then a white epoxy primer be better over the metal components under the basecoat to make the colour brighter or does it really matter? Is the DNA Diamond Clear the better option since a lot of other brands of Clearcoat are more yellow?

I'd say you should be fine with a medium hrd, just assure you leave 20 or so mins between coats, the colour of the primer shouldn't make any difference because you really want the ground colour (pink met) fully covered, if it isn't covered properly you could find colour difference between them and the parts you didn't prime same colour (fibreglass parts etc.) Sure you want the clearest clear to get best colour out of it and the diamond clear is perfect for that. The Standox Standard Clear I use is also very clear.

I'm like that too, all the channels I watch daily, I'll like the vid before even watching because I respect the creator. Rarely will I dislike a vid, I just don't watch stuff I don't like. That's just common sense to me though. But on the other side, if nobody hates you, you're doing something wrong lol.
