Im not into clay shooting although i have done a bit in the past, i loved the video no one comes close to the sharpness of filming, technical detail, and being able to captivate an advance like you Johnny, makes a change from the game videos more my thing i love them as well especially when Ed Solomons is involved. Keep up the good work your a great ambassador to our beloved sport 👍

I've just turned eighty and have been retired for 17+ years. After watching this video my plan now is when I hit the 20 year mark I'll think seriously about getting on of these shotguns. That is if I'm still shooting 15K plus rounds per year. This year I purchased a Beretta 694. I enjoy the 694 more than my DT10 or my SO4. You can never have too many Berettas. Before I fire my last round I need to shoot the SL2. Thanks for the video.

finally a gun that takes the detachable trigger from the DT series, the slim profile of the 694 and puts them together with many other improvements.. My son shoots a DT and I prefer the 694. both great guns. This SL2 looks amazing!, gonna go sell a kidney now to order me one!!!

Thanks for another cool and informative video Johnny! All the good/great gunmakers steal like an artist and have for a very long time. This is meant as a compliment by the way. In watching your video on the SL2 I see elements from several places. Boss inspired action with a nod to Perazzi. Rizzini and other Italian bottom of the mono block chamber end where it has the square shoulders to lock into the action as an additional reinforcement to bolster the already excellent Beretta recoil shoulders. The bore work that can point to the work and innovation of several barrel smiths and companies through the decades. We really do live in a golden age of firearms.

I had hoped for it to be a smaller step up from a DT, but once I had taken in the following I guess I understand it better. So simply put, the SL2 is a hybrid between An SO10 (£96k) and a DT (£10k). Its closest relative is the SL3 at £21,350. The fact it’s less than the sl3 is surprising to me, I definitely appreciate the increased machine time and technology over the engraving of the SL3. The gun has a production limit of 150 a year maximum as well, which obviously affects the economics somewhat.
@dandylion19877 ай бұрын
@@tgsoutdoors thanks fornthe reply. I'd personally have liked it more mass production with a dt style price tag, like a better, upmarket cynergy i guess. Ah well
@navaraboy30007 ай бұрын
I don’t think it is over priced, they will sell the 150 per year with ease. Sl3 for game sl2 for clays. At this price point buyers the cost isn’t a concern to buyers. They probably spend 10k-30k on shooting per year anyway

With no doubt another Beretta success. Not been biased, I LOVE Berettas guns in general, but with an exception for clay targets guns which they have a criterial that other brands have ever bitten. Not only they seat comfortably, but most important the slim line that helps reducing recoil drastically no matter the weight of the gun, by still preserving a terrific safe and strong closing mechanism where it doesn't need to be the size of a tank, like some other brands, to which I don't need to mention!! Bigger it doesn't mean better!! I know by facts that some old traditional shotguns metals that some well-known brand used to Royal in the past, they still reproduce the same designee and metallurgy as 60 years ago!! Say no more. I also like the way you represent and promote the Beretta in general, with hard to hide your passion for distinction from any other brands, including other Italian brands.!

Every time a company re-invents jug chokes, I laugh a little harder. The concept of tight-to-open-to-tight bores + choking has been around since the 1870s and it comes around as the 'state of the art' and disappears again and again through history. The original jug chokes, then overbored barrels (which allowed gases to escape around the wad, creating the same slow-down a jug choke creates before being constricted), Cutts compensators, Tula chokes, Brain chokes, now Beretta doing it again (and with a 'normal' 12 gauge .724 bore diameter to boot). With all the simulations we have today, we forget that those before us could reach the same conclusions through trial and error. Many found 'better results through XYZ' and implemented them. Then, in our modern hubris, we throw it all away because "they didn't have the advanced technology we have," only to re-converge on the same results. What is old is new again, and with a much higher price tag to reinvent what we've known to work well for centuries.
